We cover:

🧬 Why hormones are crashing in young people

– Post-COVID, many men saw testosterone drop significantly, viral illness and vaccines both suspected but no confirmed research yet

– Athletes with concussion histories frequently present with low testosterone due to trauma-induced endocrine dysfunction

– Excess body fat aromatizes testosterone into estrogen, tanking levels even in young men

– Free testosterone is the most important marker, not total, and most insurance doctors never run it

– A 12-minute appointment cannot solve a hormone problem, personalized medicine is the only answer

🦋 Women and hormones, the orchestra

– Women are not one hormone, they are estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA, and cortisol all working together

– Low estrogen symptoms: hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings

– Low progesterone symptoms: inability to stay asleep, anxiety, restlessness

– Low testosterone symptoms: zero libido, no motivation, no desire to train

– SSRIs are being prescribed for menopausal symptoms instead of hormones, which kills libido and solves nothing

– Menopause raises cholesterol because the liver keeps making it to synthesize hormones that are no longer being produced. Giving statins instead of hormones is the wrong answer

– Dr. K injects herself with 2 to 3mg of testosterone twice weekly and felt dramatically better within three weeks

💉 Testosterone for women

– Injectable testosterone at 10 to 15mg is well within normal female range and will not cause masculinization

– Creams work but require a higher concentration to hit therapeutic dose

– Compounded injectable estrogen (estrogen cypionate) is an option now that patch shortages are happening

– Pellets are not recommended by Dr. K, injectables or creams only

– Always monitor labs and adjust based on individual response

🔬 SS-31 vs MOTS-c, setting the record straight

– MOTS-c does not create more mitochondria, it reroutes energy. Dr. K has reviewed 80% of MOTS-c studies and finds no evidence it makes more mitochondria

– SS-31 stabilizes cardiolipin in the mitochondrial membrane, which is how ATP production is stabilized. This is the real deal

– Every person over 40 should consider SS-31 for longevity
