0:09Speaker 0What's up, my friends? Welcome back to the Peptide of the Week Podcast.
0:14Speaker 0I am your host, JD Denham,
0:16Speaker 0and across the way, Mr. William T. Haas, my co host as always. What's up, dude?
0:23Speaker 1What's up, my man?
0:25Speaker 0Life's good. Life's busy, but- Dude, bro, right? Jesus. Busy's good though, man. Like, we're blessed. It's good to be busy because if you're not, that kind of sucks. It does.
0:35Speaker 0When the day goes by fast, like, dude, I was just telling, I think my wife last night, I'm like, dude,
0:40Speaker 0my day goes by so fast. I feel like I have all this stuff, time to get stuff done. Then I'm like, is it 05:00 right now? Oh shit. It's crazy. Yeah.
0:47Speaker 0Flies by, man. But that's a good thing, man. It
0:49Speaker 1is a very good thing. It's a very good thing to have a- And
0:56Speaker 0stuff that you love, like we've all heard that. If you work
1:00Speaker 0in an area where you love it, like it's not really work, right? Doing things that you love, just the fitness, health, and all that stuff, we're blessed, man. We're blessed to do work in an industry where we love. You know I mean? Yeah, have to do. 100%. My girlfriend's like, Why are you working so much? I was like, I I kind of enjoy it. I mean, it's not I
1:17Speaker 1would hate it if I, yeah, had to go put on a uniform and be just, right, stuck in 1 place. Monkey suit like I have to do I used to have to do for the mortgage company. Wore a suit and tie forever, man. I paid my dues. I did it for, like, 20 years, man. Well, right. I mean, look, I've had yeah, 100%. I had jobs. I mean, I think that 1 of my so I worked for
1:37Speaker 1I ran
1:39Speaker 13 gyms. I started as like just selling memberships.
1:42Speaker 1I never, 1st of all, knew that anybody had to be sold to buy a gym membership.
1:46Speaker 1It got ruined my mind. I was like, do you mean because I was a salesman? What do you mean? Because I would always just walk in and be like- Don't they wanna come here? Yeah. I'm like, Cool. Close to my house and looks like you got things, here's my money. Right? People actually need to be sold.
1:59Speaker 1Anyway, I'm like, Well, how many more people can you actually sell?
2:02Speaker 1Right? It's like, Gym, people live there? How many more memberships are we really gonna add every month? But you'd be really surprised on how many. But, I mean, that was a rough job. Like, was I just I knew fitness and I
2:15Speaker 1had that background, I did pretty well and moved up to the GM real quick and then
2:20Speaker 1was running it was we had 3 Gold's Gyms
2:23Speaker 1in Seattle. But, I mean, that was a 9AM
2:25Speaker 1to 9PM.
2:27Speaker 1Yeah. And when you're a salesperson, you had dress shoes and, like, a polo and dress pants, which sucked. Oh, So
2:33Speaker 1it was 9AM to 9PM, Monday through Friday,
2:36Speaker 19AM to noon if you were not projecting 100% a goal.
2:41Speaker 1And,
2:42Speaker 1you know, the GM, the salespeople get paid well, but- They live there. You live there. 1 of my 1st 1 of jobs- stopped doing that, like, damn, people coming in at like, you know, 6PM to work out. I was like, phew. My day is like 0.5, you know, it's halfway-
2:57Speaker 0Oh my God. Oh, that sounds horrible.
3:00Speaker 0I, that was 1 of my 1st jobs at 18 when I 1st moved to Huntington and, I played ball down in Huntington Beach. And then off season, I was a personal trainer, 18, being at 18 at a 24 hour fitness, man, and, people lived there, dude. They
3:15Speaker 0didn't pay me well and they took most of the commission. I was like, Wait a minute, this seems a little lopsided, dude. I'm doing all the work and you, you know what I mean?
3:23Speaker 0Part of the gig, man. But that's a good segue, man, because, you know, so this one's gonna be, this episode's gonna be a little different. You know, we are going to
3:32Speaker 0talk about L- carnitine, so we're gonna dig in that shortly.
3:35Speaker 0I love it, so we'll be able to kind of crack that out. We're gonna do about a 10 minute dive into that. But we try to give people what they want. We do read our DMs and we do read all the messages and we get a lot of questions on people wanting to kind of know who we are, just what we're about, how we even got on a podcast. So we're going to spend about 20 minutes just telling you really quickly who we are,
3:58Speaker 0how we landed here, so we can answer those questions.
4:02Speaker 0So
4:02Speaker 0we'll dig into that momentarily.
4:05Speaker 0So
4:05Speaker 0raise your hand if you want to use stored
4:09Speaker 0fat for energy,
4:11Speaker 0stored fat
4:12Speaker 0to burn
4:14Speaker 0energy. So that's where we're going to start with L Carnitine.
4:18Speaker 0I love it, obviously, because of my diet. Anybody that follows me knows that I'm a high fat guy.
4:24Speaker 0So let's dig into that, Will. As always, I'm going throw it over to you. Let's talk a little bit about L carnitine.
4:30Speaker 1Okay, yeah. So this is not very super complex and is not multifaceted,
4:37Speaker 1so there's not a whole bunch to say.
4:40Speaker 1But essentially,
4:41Speaker 1L Carnitine,
4:42Speaker 1think of it as like putting your body into a state of ketosis
4:46Speaker 1while not actually being in ketosis, right? Because when you're in ketosis,
4:50Speaker 1your body you basically essentially starve yourself out for carbs, which is our body's energy source number 1. Right? The body's always wanting carbohydrates because those convert fast into energy. That's easy, easy money there. It holds off our muscle and fat stored on us for later for emergency times. So that's our emergency play. Well, in keto, you starve yourself out for carbs essentially, right, maybe takes a week. Your body goes, Where's my energy? Not there. And you start to poof, little energy dip every day. Where is it until it finally gives up and goes, Damn it, you're not gonna actually
5:22Speaker 1give me my carbs.
5:24Speaker 1So I need make a right. And I need to make a fundamental switch
5:27Speaker 1and start
5:29Speaker 1using a different energy source. So then it starts looking at muscle and fat and based on how you eat appropriately.
5:36Speaker 1Right? You eat a little bit more fat, then your body will burn the abundance of fat off of you.
5:41Speaker 1So that's what happens in keto. Now, all day long, every day, you're burning calories. It's all coming from fat and muscle, but hopefully fat if you do it right. So
5:50Speaker 1L carotene, the goal here is it basically prioritizes
5:54Speaker 1fat above-
5:56Speaker 1Glucose. Sugars, glucose,
5:58Speaker 1and it takes the fat instead of the sugar and glucose and shoves it in the mitochondria to be burnt as energy and that gives you
6:05Speaker 1more energy. But the biggest thing is it burns fat more.
6:10Speaker 1Because food doesn't work It's not being stored on you for as energy reserve. It's now being the primary source of energy. Right.
6:17Speaker 0So for anybody that doesn't know this, pretty the basics
6:19Speaker 0of
6:20Speaker 0just for energy, we take, we eat food, right? And your body, it's going to convert into ATP, where it's going to either burn glucose
6:28Speaker 0or it's going to burn fat. And the ATP is basically just inner cells is like a little spark plug for each cell, and that's what gives us the energy to be very
6:39Speaker 0simplest form.
6:40Speaker 0So our body's gonna 1st go to the glucose, as he said, or if you're someone like me that loves to
6:46Speaker 0run on fat,
6:47Speaker 0you eat a high fat diet. I don't eat much glucose. I don't eat much sugar. I found that to work really well for me.
6:55Speaker 0And
6:56Speaker 0so ketosis in a bottle is kind of a good way to say it. Your body's gonna use the fat 1st. Yep. Oh, yeah. And I mean, that stuff is I used to
7:07Speaker 1hell, I was a GM, NutraShop,
7:09Speaker 1and like, we used to sell a lot of L Carnitine, like liquid oral L Carnitine. And
7:16Speaker 1is basically kind of a gimmick. Like, it doesn't work nearly as well as the injectable stuff. Right. That
7:23Speaker 1stuff actually works very well.
7:26Speaker 1Just because, you know, anything oral, our body, it has to pass through liver, kidney. There's just a bunch of different organs that filter everything out, right? Because the body doesn't like anything foreign or toxic. So we don't really get a bunch of it if you take it orally.
7:40Speaker 1Injectable is gonna
7:43Speaker 1give you a lot more bioavailable
7:45Speaker 1and actually work this time.
7:48Speaker 0Absolutely- that's kind funny to talk about too, like you've worked at nutrition
7:52Speaker 0shops and what would you say that
7:55Speaker 0would you how much would you about stuff do you feel works at those places? Curious.
8:01Speaker 1I mean, if I look All back the pill product, basically. Right? Not
8:04Speaker 1much at all. So if I look back at the sum total of my whole life of, like, all of the over the counter supplements I took, like, if okay. Imagine, if I would've taken none of it Right. Versus do what I did, which was I took, you know, quite a lot of it,
8:18Speaker 1I honestly
8:20Speaker 1I don't know if it would've I don't know if it actually made much difference whatsoever
8:24Speaker 1other than,
8:27Speaker 1you know, in my brain. Was like, hey, I'm taking this. I might I need I'll probably I'm gonna work better. I'm gonna work harder. I'm gonna eat better. Yeah. Yeah. It does. It does do that. That probably did more than anything, but
8:37Speaker 1I don't know. It's negotiable. Like, some of that so much of that stuff. And I even had a problem. I remember my boss telling me, like, oh, why didn't you sell, you know, all these 5 things? I'm like,
8:47Speaker 1can't this person gonna go home and then tell their friends, well, this person sold me all this crap and then rip you off? They're never gonna come back, dude. And, like,
8:54Speaker 1Anyway, but
8:56Speaker 1protein, I think protein is food. K? Protein's a good source of food. No. You should not be living on just protein. Right? You need real food. You need complex real food to build muscle, to do everything, but it is a nice little
9:10Speaker 1helper. Some people, if we're really trying to pack the protein in, right, it's tough to eat.
9:15Speaker 1Prepare, cook, prepare, eat 6 meals a day. So protein shake before bed, post workout is very helpful.
9:23Speaker 1And
9:25Speaker 1creatine, if you talk about AT and Creatine,
9:28Speaker 1I think, is the 1 over the counter, like, muscle enhancing
9:32Speaker 1supplement that actually works.
9:34Speaker 1Oh, yes. You've seen it work. It really, really does. Like, you will take it and,
9:39Speaker 1you know, all of your lifts will probably raise about 10 pounds.
9:42Speaker 1Basically,
9:43Speaker 1it is taking your ATP that burns off real fast,
9:46Speaker 1converts into ADP.
9:48Speaker 1It's an ADP reuptake inhibitor.
9:51Speaker 1So it just pushes the ADP back up so you are stronger for longer
9:58Speaker 1and
9:58Speaker 1therefore you can
10:00Speaker 1create bigger muscle tears. It's also a cell volumizer to help protein nutrients get in those muscles. So if you're tearing them down
10:07Speaker 1further, pushing more weight with the same amount of strength and now allowing more nutrients into the muscle, you will build more. But mostly,
10:14Speaker 1it's a performance
10:16Speaker 1enhancer, and it actually works.
10:18Speaker 0Yeah, dude.
10:20Speaker 0I think everybody should take it. 100%.
10:23Speaker 0HCL. I mean, we've talked about it, but we're probably thinking we're thinking about doing an episode that kind of digs into
10:28Speaker 0monohydrate
10:29Speaker 0and HCL in particular.
10:31Speaker 0Tap on it now a little bit. Just I bloat on monohydrate. I hate it. Like, I can take it for about a month and I'm like, Ugh. Ugh. You know? So then when I started taking HCL, I love it. I've been taking it ever since. So I think everybody should should take it. I mean, I have my own here. Creatine. Monohydrate, I mean, yeah, monohydrate is just it's just really hard to get your body. Creatine in general.
10:52Speaker 1General daily dose, like, 5 5 g, you you really only get, a gram and 0.5 of that. Drink it with sugar. But basically,
11:00Speaker 1HCL is like think of it as prebroke down creatinine so it doesn't need to pass through some internal organs and therefore it doesn't clog them up and cause any water back up into your cells and you don't get bloating with HCL, as you do with monohydrate. Monohydrate's super cheap, but you also need to take 5 times as much. Typical dose of HCL is like 1.5 g versus monohydrate's 5. So
11:24Speaker 1to spend more money, you basically get the same damn thing anyway, but HCL is Most
11:29Speaker 0people get the monohydrate too. It's cheaper.
11:33Speaker 0Always because I would talk when I was coaching guys, I would always say, Is it powder? Like, Yeah, it's almost it's almost certainly monohydrate. Right? Yeah, it is. Like- Yeah. Kick it to the kick it to the curb, man. Get HCL.
11:43Speaker 1Yeah. Yep. So,
11:46Speaker 1hypo quarantine, like some other things that stand out, like, it's not
11:50Speaker 1not gonna work the exact same as being in keto, so FYI.
11:54Speaker 1Can't this is not you don't just get to take that and then
11:58Speaker 1say, Well, I'm doing just the same thing as keto. Right? Yeah. Right. I'm very good. Time and effort to be in keto, that is going to work better. But it's a nice supplement to add into any,
12:09Speaker 1whatever, stack or if you're already a hard worker.
12:13Speaker 1And
12:14Speaker 1a couple things to note. So basically, its job is to help help you burn fat.
12:20Speaker 1That results in maybe a little bit more energy, right? Because now you even have backup energy.
12:25Speaker 1Your easy glucose
12:26Speaker 1is still there for energy.
12:29Speaker 1So if you burn off all of your fat during a workout, now you're not gonna burn the whole thing off, but there's a limit to how much fat your body will burn off in a session, in a certain time frame,
12:38Speaker 1and then it will start looking for something else. So
12:41Speaker 1it does result in potential, like, performance enhancing effects in 1 single workout session or event because now we will have more energy because you're gonna actually use all your use some fat, then bam, I still got some
12:53Speaker 1glucose left over.
12:56Speaker 1Those of you who are taking t 3 or any thyroid hormones, you should not take L Carditine. That's a common knowledge deal that it will just
13:05Speaker 1it'll it'll blunt the effects of t 3.
13:10Speaker 1So you should not take L carnitine at all.
13:13Speaker 1I wouldn't take caffeine within, like, 2 hours of you taking your dose before or after anyway. T 3.
13:20Speaker 1But that's the 1, I guess, warning.
13:23Speaker 1Other than that,
13:25Speaker 1it's fine My other than the injectable
13:28Speaker 0experience with it is I love it. I mean,
13:31Speaker 0I do feel like it does give me energy.
13:33Speaker 0I always say this, whether it's placebo or not, I think it gives me energy, so it works for me.
13:40Speaker 0The negative for me is just that you have to inject a mil,
13:45Speaker 0which is like 600 mg a day,
13:48Speaker 0which becomes a lot. I mean, you're pinning, you can't use an insulin needle. It just doesn't pull out. It will take you about a day and 0.5. So you have to use a typical needle and or syringe and
14:00Speaker 0pinning every single day sucks.
14:02Speaker 0So for me, I don't know, I generally run it for about a month and then I'm like, done. But I do love it, man. It really does burn fat really well.
14:09Speaker 0It goes with somebody that runs a diet that I run and just kind of compounds on top of it. So it works really well for me.
14:17Speaker 0So anybody that's trying to burn fat,
14:19Speaker 0stack it, you know, stack it with Lavamino-1MQ,
14:22Speaker 0I think that's a really good 1 to run with it.
14:26Speaker 1Retrifutide will always just throw that into the mix probably every episode, but that's gonna be good to run with it as well. But yeah. Yep. 2nd, that 5 m 1 is a really good idea. Those those 2 combined will will really help. Yeah. That's gonna help make your fat easier to shuttle,
14:43Speaker 1L Carnitine will
14:44Speaker 1shuttle it right into the furnace.
14:48Speaker 1Yeah. If you're a gym rat and you've not tried it, give it a shot. You will like it. It will work really well. And let's see if you can get past a full month of pinning every day. If you can, awesome. Good on you.
14:59Speaker 1Yep. Eat your own baby. Mean, you know, it's shoulder pins. Right? Little smaller guys that aren't insulin needles that are big enough. Right? You just then switch
15:06Speaker 1switch spots.
15:09Speaker 0You know, it's it is thick, but I still I wouldn't I don't know. I I almost wouldn't mix it though with anything else, like like testosterone and any other intramuscular It's funny you say that. Did that this morning. I actually mixed because like, do I wanna I wanna pin both these? Because I do my testosterone Monday, Wednesday, Friday. So I mixed it. I don't know. It seemed to work all right.
15:30Speaker 1It's I'm down. It looked funny in the syringe,
15:35Speaker 1Little bit. Because you mixed the oil and water together. So, I mean,
15:39Speaker 1I suppose it's all going to the same place anyway.
15:41Speaker 0That's how I looked at it, man. I mean, I'd I probably I look was like, should I probably not? Let's do it. Worked out well.
15:48Speaker 1For me.
15:50Speaker 0Mean, dude, you see what mean? We, you know, I take a lot of peptides and I've been running testosterone replacement for a long time.
15:57Speaker 0Was just Will and I were just talking off camera.
15:59Speaker 0I'm about to come into my season where I'm going to be a reboot. I'm gonna basically take a whole lot of nothing, just TRT.
16:07Speaker 0I don't run over 180
16:10Speaker 0mg, but I'm gonna do a reboot in November and December. I look forward to it and just
16:15Speaker 0let my body just,
16:16Speaker 0I don't because I take a lot of supplements. It'll be cool, man.
16:21Speaker 1Yeah. It'll be cool.
16:22Speaker 0So so give it a shot. I think you'll love it. If you're a gym route, you will definitely love it. But that is that. I love it. I'll give you a little visual again. L Carnitine is what it looks like. But yeah, let's dig into you, man. So Will, he really tapped on it. He ran, he I'll tell you just because I've known Will a little bit, I'll just kind of tell you a little bit of what I know him real quick. He's a smart freaking dude. You know, he is a bright guy.
16:47Speaker 0He knows a lot about nutrition and just a lot about a lot. So
16:52Speaker 0tell us a little bit about your story in regards to
16:57Speaker 0you. I'll tell a little bit about me, then we'll tell how you and I connected. Sure. I guess I practiced at this through our
17:04Speaker 1mutual program, but
17:06Speaker 1and I'll make it I know people don't wanna listen forever, but
17:10Speaker 1I'm in California now. I'm in Huntington Beach, but I was born and raised in Seattle, in Kirkland, specifically, where Costco is from.
17:17Speaker 1And
17:18Speaker 1I don't know, dude. I was good at sports. I liked sports. That's what motivated
17:23Speaker 1me for a long time. I went and played
17:27Speaker 1played college football,
17:29Speaker 1baseball briefly.
17:31Speaker 1Played better at baseball, but I don't know. I threw too hard and had not correct
17:36Speaker 1mechanics,
17:37Speaker 1and that'll tear an arm up.
17:39Speaker 1Anyway, I played played division 1 college football. I
17:44Speaker 1when I got to campus was the 1st time my my freshman year, I said, again, we get there. I was just gonna go to the NFL. Right? Like, because you're a stud. Everybody
17:52Speaker 1until you get there and you realize, like, everybody is a stud. Yeah.
17:56Speaker 1Little bit different here. Every single person was
17:58Speaker 1Allstate and the best in their conference and the best thing that their town had ever heard of. Right? Right. Right. And
18:04Speaker 1my 1st year, just was like, I barely went to class.
18:07Speaker 1Probably graduate, got like a 2.5 after that year. And then sat down and said, Damn,
18:15Speaker 1probably not gonna go to the NFL. If so, it's a long shot. I better have a backup plan. And so I started studying and I actually
18:21Speaker 1did pretty well. Got, like, 4.0 in every class I ever took the rest of the time and started to enjoy it. I always hated school.
18:30Speaker 1Yeah. But realized that maybe because I was
18:33Speaker 1learning things that mattered now instead of just general ed requirements.
18:39Speaker 1Anyway, ended up hurting myself, but I played, ended up you know, had a full ride, but I graduated
18:45Speaker 1with that full ride. School paid for.
18:48Speaker 1Injured a lot. Probably broke a bone every single year I ever played football,
18:52Speaker 11 or 2. But
18:55Speaker 1I then started a business I majored in business and criminal justice. I actually had double majored, so I had some time, took some extra business classes.
19:02Speaker 1I started a company
19:04Speaker 1working in
19:06Speaker 1jail alternatives. I basically started a private company, taking people out of jail and putting them on house arrest
19:12Speaker 1and contracts with like 35 different cities and
19:16Speaker 1putting this SCRAM bracelet. This is a remote alcohol monitor on people's ankles.
19:21Speaker 1And
19:23Speaker 1I guess I wanted to help people
19:26Speaker 1out of trouble
19:28Speaker 1as opposed to get them in trouble
19:30Speaker 1at the time, but I was also at that time
19:33Speaker 1worried about then is, like, where my, like, alcoholism addiction kinda caught up to me. I'm a product of, like, trying an OxyContin and then loving it.
19:43Speaker 1There's a reason I'm sober now. I've been sober for about 6 years. 6 years kind of in January.
19:50Speaker 1Probably realized I had a problem
19:53Speaker 1after I sold that company.
19:55Speaker 1So I ran that, sold that company,
19:58Speaker 1and knew I had some issues and started to go to, like, a string of rehabs
20:02Speaker 1and
20:03Speaker 1kind of battled that for a while, for 10 years, I suppose.
20:07Speaker 1In and out, sober, then not sober. In between then, you know, have a job. So like I said, I worked for Gold's Gym, was a GM, and then kind of VP
20:17Speaker 1of 2 of those gyms running all the trainers and all the memberships.
20:22Speaker 1Hell, we the we were on, like, the number 1 training department in The United States. We had giant gyms. We were right next to Microsoft
20:29Speaker 1and great fitness directors who would help, but and a cool owner. I actually enjoyed my time. The owner was awesome. I think ultimately my addiction got me
20:40Speaker 1let go, and it was not it was for lack of being responsible and not lack of production.
20:45Speaker 1But
20:47Speaker 1I then
20:49Speaker 1I don't know. I mean, kind of fast forward. Right? I've
20:53Speaker 1that job, I worked at Nutrishop for a couple months
20:56Speaker 1and just sat there and studied every single ingredient. Said, How am I gonna learn all these supplements?
21:01Speaker 1Always even throughout the addiction, I
21:04Speaker 1would always stay in shape. I'd always go to the gym. That was 1 good way to keep my brain happy.
21:08Speaker 0Yeah, me too. That's funny. Be alive. And
21:12Speaker 1so
21:14Speaker 1fitness has always been there.
21:17Speaker 1Studied every single damn nutrient. All right, how am gonna study? How am gonna know what are these 20 pre burnouts? What do they do? I don't know. I guess I'll just study every single individual ingredient
21:26Speaker 1the whole way down. So I spent a lot of time doing that.
21:29Speaker 1And then most recently,
21:31Speaker 1I
21:33Speaker 1have been running basically a small little business on my own with friends, selling
21:37Speaker 1supplements, advising people. I've been a trainer, so I have this training certification.
21:43Speaker 1I haven't kept up with the general, the requirements, so it's lapsed, but I but I held a certification at 1 point. But
21:50Speaker 1I have spent the last maybe 8 years
21:53Speaker 1selling supplements and advising people on how to take supplements and getting feedback and all kinds of things, from performance enhancing like PEDs
22:00Speaker 1to over the counter
22:02Speaker 1supplements to peptides.
22:04Speaker 1Peptides have made some emergence recently, so I got into that 1 early.
22:09Speaker 1And
22:11Speaker 1so I have, I don't know, dealt with thousands of people and got all of their feedback
22:18Speaker 1Hands on. Yeah.
22:20Speaker 1I have a lot of experience
22:21Speaker 1seeing results from different supplements and learning that, man, not everything right, you can read a profile on a supplement. This is what it's supposed to do.
22:29Speaker 1Yeah, different people. Some people say, I love that. It did awesome. Some people say, It didn't do anything to me. Okay? It is what it is. But
22:36Speaker 1nowadays,
22:38Speaker 1life's good.
22:40Speaker 1You and I started a actual supplement company,
22:45Speaker 1and we're doing well and busy and
22:47Speaker 1life's good. I live now
22:50Speaker 1girlfriend and her son, which is awesome. We're going to this football game on Friday. He's 9.
22:56Speaker 1And
22:57Speaker 1I am starting to learn how to help him with homework.
23:04Speaker 1Me and a dad. That's fine, dude. I like to read now. I mean, it's so funny. The more I mature, the more I my parents were both school teachers.
23:12Speaker 1I remember when I hated homework as a kid. Right? My mom would be like, how do you not like homework?
23:18Speaker 1Oh my gosh. What is wrong with you? What do you mean what do you mean I'm supposed to like homework? But I don't know. I read every night and I enjoy that. I don't ever watch TV. I'd rather I'd rather read and
23:30Speaker 1be active, and I still
23:32Speaker 1am active and playing around
23:34Speaker 1all the time. Yeah. Got a pool and
23:38Speaker 1yeah. Think getting the girls into business, keep me busy.
23:41Speaker 0And now, ladies and gentlemen, he is now officially back on Instagram.
23:46Speaker 0He's a Will is not Will's been a private individual as long as I've known him. 1 of the most private people that I know, actually. He likes his space. He likes to kinda like
23:56Speaker 0not, you know, he's definitely not a social media type guy at all, but because of what we do, we have made somewhat
24:04Speaker 0of a company decision to get his butt on there,
24:07Speaker 0which is good. People want a little piece of him. Probably, most people hear a lot, know a lot about me. I'll be brief. Same thing. I started lifting weights. My uncle, thank God for him, In 8th grade, cousin and I were about to go in to play football. So in 8th grade,
24:24Speaker 0uncle was just
24:25Speaker 0an ex wrestler,
24:26Speaker 0was ripped, you know? And like he
24:29Speaker 0took us to the gym and showed us how to lift weights, man. And I never stopped. I freaking loved it. I loved it from day 1. And like Will just said, never stopped. You know, I just football,
24:41Speaker 0blah, blah, I just loved it. I mean, even in my addiction, not when I was really, really, really bad, but I always lifted through the addiction because I loved it that much.
24:51Speaker 0Ran a mortgage company for a lot of years.
24:54Speaker 0And how Will and I kind of came into hoot, so we're both sober, as he said.
24:59Speaker 0We met at a Monday night meeting, and
25:01Speaker 0the cool part of that was,
25:04Speaker 0connect through sobriety,
25:06Speaker 0obviously. Anybody that connects through that stuff obviously has a bond. But where Will and I went
25:12Speaker 0past that was we loved just talking about exercise. We loved talking about nutrition and
25:18Speaker 0loved talking about supplement stacks and just all kinds of stuff.
25:23Speaker 0We'd be talking about, Hey, have you thought about this? And he would always know what I was talking about. So we'd talk about all these different things. And that was just kind of the genesis of the friendship.
25:32Speaker 0How he and I kind of came to start a supplement company is a pretty cool story, actually. It just is a fluke,
25:39Speaker 0kinda.
25:40Speaker 0Mortgages were slow, I just needed an outlet to put some positive stuff out. I just started doing a fitness channel and just for whatever reason, the fitness channel did really well really quickly, and I just was kind of surprised by it myself.
25:53Speaker 0And I started coaching a lot of men,
25:56Speaker 0and they all naturally wanted to know what I was taking. So I was obviously
26:00Speaker 0Will had his
26:02Speaker 0little business
26:03Speaker 0that I would get my supplements from him. So he started selling me supplements at a good price, and I put my margin on it to my clientele.
26:12Speaker 0And because the fitness channel grew so quick, we were selling a lot, and it just kept growing and growing and growing. And November,
26:20Speaker 0give or take, we went to coffee and we said, Listen, man, there's something here,
26:25Speaker 0and maybe we should make this a business.
26:28Speaker 0That's kind of the
26:30Speaker 0beginning of where Warrior Maker started. Come January,
26:34Speaker 0Warrior Maker was born, Warrior Maker was born. And the cool part of that is it
26:40Speaker 0grew really fast.
26:42Speaker 0We are blessed. The supplement company just still
26:45Speaker 0blows our mind. We're now in a 3,000
26:48Speaker 0square foot
26:50Speaker 0warehouse,
26:51Speaker 0which is not bad for 10 months in business. But the
26:55Speaker 0beautiful part about that is this.
26:58Speaker 0It wouldn't have happened if either of us weren't coming together because he had his small little business that he was just doing, and he is a very techy guy. That's why he's behind the scenes all the time. He's the brains.
27:09Speaker 0And he had all that stuff he was starting to cultivate and get his softwares and stuff ready. Will has been cultivating his relationships
27:18Speaker 0where we get our supplements for 8 years. He has great, great deep, deep ties
27:24Speaker 0on where we get our stuff from, so he had that side. And what I brought to the equation was just my social media channels were very large and they were bringing in a lot of clientele and they came together
27:36Speaker 0and it just grew.
27:38Speaker 0What I like to say
27:39Speaker 0is
27:41Speaker 0God put his hand on it, man. You have 2 guys that love nutrition.
27:45Speaker 0We love talking about nutrition. We love studying nutrition. We geek out on it.
27:51Speaker 0Just do. We just love that stuff.
27:54Speaker 0So there's a passion there. But I think where I think people connect and we connect the best is
28:00Speaker 0we're both sober and we only stay sober if we are men of integrity. So this company, Warrior Makers, is built upon
28:07Speaker 0integrity,
28:08Speaker 0character.
28:10Speaker 0That's just, it will not bend. If there's a problem with a product, we fix it. We don't ask, we fix it. It's done. Like, no problem, we'll fix it. We're huge supporters of veterans.
28:20Speaker 0Obviously, the flag's behind us, my hat. We're huge supporters of police officers, firemen,
28:26Speaker 01st responders.
28:27Speaker 0We just have a heart to help people. And that's the basis of how it came together.
28:33Speaker 0We're very blessed. The company's grown so fast.
28:37Speaker 0And I truly, my opinion, I won't answer this for you, Will, but my opinion is we truly
28:41Speaker 0care
28:43Speaker 0about helping people get healthy,
28:46Speaker 0not just in supplements,
28:47Speaker 0but in nutrition.
28:50Speaker 0You hear us talk about testosterone replacement,
28:53Speaker 0creatine,
28:54Speaker 0all the way down the road. I think that's why the company has done so well and so many people
29:01Speaker 0support it heavily. We have a really good group of people that continue to buy each month,
29:06Speaker 0because
29:07Speaker 0hopefully,
29:08Speaker 0we treat you well.
29:11Speaker 0That'll never
29:12Speaker 0change.
29:14Speaker 0We have some cool stuff coming down. I'll release some of the stuff that we have in mind.
29:18Speaker 0We'll probably laugh when I say this. I'm the ideas guy. He's a tech guy. He's a brains, and I'll just say, Hey, listen, I got an idea. And he's like, Oh, man, here we go. But these ideas have some of them have been really rad. They've done well for us, but we
29:30Speaker 0want to do some outreach to some stuff. So we'll be talking about some of the things that we plan on doing with
29:35Speaker 0some of the success we've been blessed with. So we'll be releasing that stuff. But hopefully,
29:41Speaker 0that gives the people that had questions about who we are,
29:46Speaker 0what we do, that's who we are.
29:49Speaker 0We really do believe integrity and character.
29:51Speaker 0It's just who we are, man. Our company is built upon that without a doubt.
29:57Speaker 0Yeah.
29:58Speaker 1That's it, right? Yes, we Right?
30:01Speaker 1Have
30:02Speaker 1thrown away and lost lots and lots of money,
30:05Speaker 0doing the right thing. Testing products too, man. You know, you have a lot of companies out there that are popping up left and right, and,
30:13Speaker 0guaranteed they're not spending the money that we spend to test them, that kind of sucks, but it is what it is. It costs a lot to have it tested, but there's no other option, man. It is what it is. We have Yeah. Or making the sacrifice, right, when you just spent $20
30:25Speaker 1on something and then tests come back bad.
30:28Speaker 0Yeah.
30:29Speaker 0Which we've tasted a little while for a few months, so we've just
30:33Speaker 0It goes in the trash, is what it is. Yep.
30:37Speaker 1And
30:38Speaker 1yes, we have learned a lot and bumped our head against the wall lots of times
30:45Speaker 1and realized how much
30:47Speaker 1taxes cost.
30:49Speaker 1Oh, my goodness. But,
30:52Speaker 1yeah, dude, we do
30:54Speaker 1care. We will always
30:56Speaker 1you know, I've had other jobs where it's amazing
31:00Speaker 1that the boss, I'd say, well, this obvious thing happened to this customer. Right? It's, like, obviously not their fault at all, or they should know. And the boss is like, well, just don't fucking don't tell them. Then, no, we're not gonna give them their money back. And I'm what? Never. So, basically, our policy is to always do the opposite of that, where it's like, dude, if it just
31:17Speaker 1if it makes common sense, we will always do the right thing.
31:20Speaker 1Yeah.
31:21Speaker 1Before we run a sale and somebody came in and bought bought something like that morning of because we started the sale late, we will
31:29Speaker 1send their money back, the portion, you know, the percentage of the sale. We just refund it to them and then say, Hey, by the way- Oh, I'm asking. We've done a new service, man. You miss our sale. And
31:39Speaker 1we'll always give people the benefit of the doubt. Right? There's been lots of people like, This didn't
31:44Speaker 1GHK-seven,
31:45Speaker 1like, it hurt me. Like,
31:47Speaker 1Yeah, well, we told you, and that's But
31:51Speaker 1we'll just give you what else you want. You can just we'll throw it away or you throw it away or use it, whatever. We'll give you a new 1. Now, people don't-
32:01Speaker 1Take that and run with it? Yeah,
32:03Speaker 1exactly. Please don't take it and So do
32:06Speaker 1we do need to be smart and we're learning
32:08Speaker 1more. But,
32:10Speaker 1yeah, we care that we do the right things and we are there and we only wanna put actual products that work
32:18Speaker 1because a whole lot of this fitness industry, man, is a lot of just
32:22Speaker 1marketing and colors and shininess.
32:24Speaker 1Right? Just
32:25Speaker 1who cares if the product actually works. You just market it well, it'll sell and then we'll get money and we don't wanna be like that.
32:32Speaker 0Yeah, man. We think big too. We do things that we
32:36Speaker 0want and we hear that other people want. Anybody that knows that we have a face serum that we threw out and it's doing really well, and we're about literally days away from releasing the GHK-3C shampoo,
32:46Speaker 0which so many people have been. I've been using it in my beard, my head, I'm about to release a couple videos and reels on that. So we have cool stuff coming down the pike and again, to be redundant for a reason, because we truly care, man. We are truly trying to put good things out on the market that work,
33:04Speaker 0top notch products.
33:07Speaker 1We And- had a girl I had a girl come to me yesterday and say, Now what in the hell did you put in that shampoo? And I was like, What do you mean? She's like,
33:14Speaker 1I thought it was just gonna be like, Okay, cool. It puts the peptides in there and it might help regrow hair, but goddamn, my hair feels great and it's silky smooth. And I mean, she
33:23Speaker 1knows what she's doing female. And like you and I were like, I don't know, cool, hair feels
33:28Speaker 0clean. Right.
33:30Speaker 1But,
33:31Speaker 1so that's cool. Stuff works, man. No, actually good product. Like, not to mention, you know, in addition to
34:03Speaker 0because I know you wanted to see, talk to Will as well, because I do read the comments and stuff, but I hope that helps for you guys, We truly care, we truly love what we do, and we are so freaking grateful for how fast this
34:16Speaker 0podcast has grown and what it's bringing in regards to the business, not because any type of finances, but just rad humans, man. We really, really are appreciative of all you guys. So we wanted to kinda drop this for you, the people that had questions, man. That's it. Yes, sir. Welcome. Q and A will be coming out next,
34:34Speaker 0but anything else,
34:36Speaker 1Nothing.
34:37Speaker 0All right, my friends. Well, we will catch you on the flip side. All right. Later.
