Welcome back to the Peptide of the Week Podcast. 0:14 Speaker 0: I am your host, JD Denham, 0:16 Speaker 0: and across the way, Mr. William T. Haas, my co host as always. What's up, dude? 0:23 Speaker 1: What's up, my man? 0:25 Speaker 0: Life's good. Life's busy, but- Dude, bro, right? Jesus. Busy's good though, man. Like, we're blessed. It's good to be busy because if you're not, that kind of sucks. It does. 0:35 Speaker 0: When the day goes by fast, like, dude, I was just telling, I think my wife last night, I'm like, dude, 0:40 Speaker 0: my day goes by so fast. I feel like I have all this stuff, time to get stuff done. Then I'm like, is it 05:00 right now? Oh shit. It's crazy. Yeah. 0:47 Speaker 0: Flies by, man. But that's a good thing, man. It 0:49 Speaker 1: is a very good thing. It's a very good thing to have a- And 0:56 Speaker 0: stuff that you love, like we've all heard that. If you work 1:00 Speaker 0: in an area where you love it, like it's not really work, right? Doing things that you love, just the fitness, health, and all that stuff, we're blessed, man. We're blessed to do work in an industry where we love. You know I mean? Yeah, have to do. 100%. My girlfriend's like, Why are you working so much? I was like, I I kind of enjoy it. I mean, it's not I 1:17 Speaker 1: would hate it if I, yeah, had to go put on a uniform and be just, right, stuck in 1 place. Monkey suit like I have to do I used to have to do for the mortgage company. Wore a suit and tie forever, man. I paid my dues. I did it for, like, 20 years, man. Well, right. I mean, look, I've had yeah, 100%. I had jobs. I mean, I think that 1 of my so I worked for 1:37 Speaker 1: I ran 1:39 Speaker 1: 3 gyms. I started as like just selling memberships. 1:42 Speaker 1: I never, 1st of all, knew that anybody had to be sold to buy a gym membership. 1:46 Speaker 1: It got ruined my mind. I was like, do you mean because I was a salesman? What do you mean? Because I would always just walk in and be like- Don't they wanna come here? Yeah. I'm like, Cool. Close to my house and looks like you got things, here's my money. Right? People actually need to be sold. 1:59 Speaker 1: Anyway, I'm like, Well, how many more people can you actually sell? 2:02 Speaker 1: Right? It's like, Gym, people live there? How many more memberships are we really gonna add every month? But you'd be really surprised on how many. But, I mean, that was a rough job. Like, was I just I knew fitness and I 2:15 Speaker 1: had that background, I did pretty well and moved up to the GM real quick and then 2:20 Speaker 1: was running it was we had 3 Gold's Gyms 2:23 Speaker 1: in Seattle. But, I mean, that was a 9AM 2:25 Speaker 1: to 9PM. 2:27 Speaker 1: Yeah. And when you're a salesperson, you had dress shoes and, like, a polo and dress pants, which sucked. Oh, So 2:33 Speaker 1: it was 9AM to 9PM, Monday through Friday, 2:36 Speaker 1: 9AM to noon if you were not projecting 100% a goal. 2:41 Speaker 1: And, 2:42 Speaker 1: you know, the GM, the salespeople get paid well, but- They live there. You live there. 1 of my 1st 1 of jobs- stopped doing that, like, damn, people coming in at like, you know, 6PM to work out. I was like, phew. My day is like 0.5, you know, it's halfway- 2:57 Speaker 0: Oh my God. Oh, that sounds horrible. 3:00 Speaker 0: I, that was 1 of my 1st jobs at 18 when I 1st moved to Huntington and, I played ball down in Huntington Beach. And then off season, I was a personal trainer, 18, being at 18 at a 24 hour fitness, man, and, people lived there, dude. They 3:15 Speaker 0: didn't pay me well and they took most of the commission. I was like, Wait a minute, this seems a little lopsided, dude. I'm doing all the work and you, you know what I mean? 3:23 Speaker 0: Part of the gig, man. But that's a good segue, man, because, you know, so this one's gonna be, this episode's gonna be a little different. You know, we are going to 3:32 Speaker 0: talk about L- carnitine, so we're gonna dig in that shortly. 3:35 Speaker 0: I love it, so we'll be able to kind of crack that out. We're gonna do about a 10 minute dive into that. But we try to give people what they want. We do read our DMs and we do read all the messages and we get a lot of questions on people wanting to kind of know who we are, just what we're about, how we even got on a podcast. So we're going to spend about 20 minutes just telling you really quickly who we are, 3:58 Speaker 0: how we landed here, so we can answer those questions. 4:02 Speaker 0: So 4:02 Speaker 0: we'll dig into that momentarily. 4:05 Speaker 0: So 4:05 Speaker 0: raise your hand if you want to use stored 4:09 Speaker 0: fat for energy, 4:11 Speaker 0: stored fat 4:12 Speaker 0: to burn 4:14 Speaker 0: energy. So that's where we're going to start with L Carnitine. 4:18 Speaker 0: I love it, obviously, because of my diet. Anybody that follows me knows that I'm a high fat guy. 4:24 Speaker 0: So let's dig into that, Will. As always, I'm going throw it over to you. Let's talk a little bit about L carnitine. 4:30 Speaker 1: Okay, yeah. So this is not very super complex and is not multifaceted, 4:37 Speaker 1: so there's not a whole bunch to say. 4:40 Speaker 1: But essentially, 4:41 Speaker 1: L Carnitine, 4:42 Speaker 1: think of it as like putting your body into a state of ketosis 4:46 Speaker 1: while not actually being in ketosis, right? Because when you're in ketosis, 4:50 Speaker 1: your body you basically essentially starve yourself out for carbs, which is our body's energy source number 1. Right? The body's always wanting carbohydrates because those convert fast into energy. That's easy, easy money there. It holds off our muscle and fat stored on us for later for emergency times. So that's our emergency play. Well, in keto, you starve yourself out for carbs essentially, right, maybe takes a week. Your body goes, Where's my energy? Not there. And you start to poof, little energy dip every day. Where is it until it finally gives up and goes, Damn it, you're not gonna actually 5:22 Speaker 1: give me my carbs. 5:24 Speaker 1: So I need make a right. And I need to make a fundamental switch 5:27 Speaker 1: and start 5:29 Speaker 1: using a different energy source. So then it starts looking at muscle and fat and based on how you eat appropriately. 5:36 Speaker 1: Right? You eat a little bit more fat, then your body will burn the abundance of fat off of you. 5:41 Speaker 1: So that's what happens in keto. Now, all day long, every day, you're burning calories. It's all coming from fat and muscle, but hopefully fat if you do it right. So 5:50 Speaker 1: L carotene, the goal here is it basically prioritizes 5:54 Speaker 1: fat above- 5:56 Speaker 1: Glucose. Sugars, glucose, 5:58 Speaker 1: and it takes the fat instead of the sugar and glucose and shoves it in the mitochondria to be burnt as energy and that gives you 6:05 Speaker 1: more energy. But the biggest thing is it burns fat more. 6:10 Speaker 1: Because food doesn't work It's not being stored on you for as energy reserve. It's now being the primary source of energy. Right. 6:17 Speaker 0: So for anybody that doesn't know this, pretty the basics 6:19 Speaker 0: of 6:20 Speaker 0: just for energy, we take, we eat food, right? And your body, it's going to convert into ATP, where it's going to either burn glucose 6:28 Speaker 0: or it's going to burn fat. And the ATP is basically just inner cells is like a little spark plug for each cell, and that's what gives us the energy to be very 6:39 Speaker 0: simplest form. 6:40 Speaker 0: So our body's gonna 1st go to the glucose, as he said, or if you're someone like me that loves to 6:46 Speaker 0: run on fat, 6:47 Speaker 0: you eat a high fat diet. I don't eat much glucose. I don't eat much sugar. I found that to work really well for me. 6:55 Speaker 0: And 6:56 Speaker 0: so ketosis in a bottle is kind of a good way to say it. Your body's gonna use the fat 1st. Yep. Oh, yeah. And I mean, that stuff is I used to 7:07 Speaker 1: hell, I was a GM, NutraShop, 7:09 Speaker 1: and like, we used to sell a lot of L Carnitine, like liquid oral L Carnitine. And 7:16 Speaker 1: is basically kind of a gimmick. Like, it doesn't work nearly as well as the injectable stuff. Right. That 7:23 Speaker 1: stuff actually works very well. 7:26 Speaker 1: Just because, you know, anything oral, our body, it has to pass through liver, kidney. There's just a bunch of different organs that filter everything out, right? Because the body doesn't like anything foreign or toxic. So we don't really get a bunch of it if you take it orally. 7:40 Speaker 1: Injectable is gonna 7:43 Speaker 1: give you a lot more bioavailable 7:45 Speaker 1: and actually work this time. 7:48 Speaker 0: Absolutely- that's kind funny to talk about too, like you've worked at nutrition 7:52 Speaker 0: shops and what would you say that 7:55 Speaker 0: would you how much would you about stuff do you feel works at those places? Curious. 8:01 Speaker 1: I mean, if I look All back the pill product, basically. Right? Not 8:04 Speaker 1: much at all. So if I look back at the sum total of my whole life of, like, all of the over the counter supplements I took, like, if okay. Imagine, if I would've taken none of it Right. Versus do what I did, which was I took, you know, quite a lot of it, 8:18 Speaker 1: I honestly 8:20 Speaker 1: I don't know if it would've I don't know if it actually made much difference whatsoever 8:24 Speaker 1: other than, 8:27 Speaker 1: you know, in my brain. Was like, hey, I'm taking this. I might I need I'll probably I'm gonna work better. I'm gonna work harder. I'm gonna eat better. Yeah. Yeah. It does. It does do that. That probably did more than anything, but 8:37 Speaker 1: I don't know. It's negotiable. Like, some of that so much of that stuff. And I even had a problem. I remember my boss telling me, like, oh, why didn't you sell, you know, all these 5 things? I'm like, 8:47 Speaker 1: can't this person gonna go home and then tell their friends, well, this person sold me all this crap and then rip you off? They're never gonna come back, dude. And, like, 8:54 Speaker 1: Anyway, but 8:56 Speaker 1: protein, I think protein is food. K? Protein's a good source of food. No. You should not be living on just protein. Right? You need real food. You need complex real food to build muscle, to do everything, but it is a nice little 9:10 Speaker 1: helper. Some people, if we're really trying to pack the protein in, right, it's tough to eat. 9:15 Speaker 1: Prepare, cook, prepare, eat 6 meals a day. So protein shake before bed, post workout is very helpful. 9:23 Speaker 1: And 9:25 Speaker 1: creatine, if you talk about AT and Creatine, 9:28 Speaker 1: I think, is the 1 over the counter, like, muscle enhancing 9:32 Speaker 1: supplement that actually works. 9:34 Speaker 1: Oh, yes. You've seen it work. It really, really does. Like, you will take it and, 9:39 Speaker 1: you know, all of your lifts will probably raise about 10 pounds. 9:42 Speaker 1: Basically, 9:43 Speaker 1: it is taking your ATP that burns off real fast, 9:46 Speaker 1: converts into ADP. 9:48 Speaker 1: It's an ADP reuptake inhibitor. 9:51 Speaker 1: So it just pushes the ADP back up so you are stronger for longer 9:58 Speaker 1: and 9:58 Speaker 1: therefore you can 10:00 Speaker 1: create bigger muscle tears. It's also a cell volumizer to help protein nutrients get in those muscles. So if you're tearing them down 10:07 Speaker 1: further, pushing more weight with the same amount of strength and now allowing more nutrients into the muscle, you will build more. But mostly, 10:14 Speaker 1: it's a performance 10:16 Speaker 1: enhancer, and it actually works. 10:18 Speaker 0: Yeah, dude. 10:20 Speaker 0: I think everybody should take it. 100%. 10:23 Speaker 0: HCL. I mean, we've talked about it, but we're probably thinking we're thinking about doing an episode that kind of digs into 10:28 Speaker 0: monohydrate 10:29 Speaker 0: and HCL in particular. 10:31 Speaker 0: Tap on it now a little bit. Just I bloat on monohydrate. I hate it. Like, I can take it for about a month and I'm like, Ugh. Ugh. You know? So then when I started taking HCL, I love it. I've been taking it ever since. So I think everybody should should take it. I mean, I have my own here. Creatine. Monohydrate, I mean, yeah, monohydrate is just it's just really hard to get your body. Creatine in general. 10:52 Speaker 1: General daily dose, like, 5 5 g, you you really only get, a gram and 0.5 of that. Drink it with sugar. But basically, 11:00 Speaker 1: HCL is like think of it as prebroke down creatinine so it doesn't need to pass through some internal organs and therefore it doesn't clog them up and cause any water back up into your cells and you don't get bloating with HCL, as you do with monohydrate. Monohydrate's super cheap, but you also need to take 5 times as much. Typical dose of HCL is like 1.5 g versus monohydrate's 5. So 11:24 Speaker 1: to spend more money, you basically get the same damn thing anyway, but HCL is Most 11:29 Speaker 0: people get the monohydrate too. It's cheaper. 11:33 Speaker 0: Always because I would talk when I was coaching guys, I would always say, Is it powder? Like, Yeah, it's almost it's almost certainly monohydrate. Right? Yeah, it is. Like- Yeah. Kick it to the kick it to the curb, man. Get HCL. 11:43 Speaker 1: Yeah. Yep. So, 11:46 Speaker 1: hypo quarantine, like some other things that stand out, like, it's not 11:50 Speaker 1: not gonna work the exact same as being in keto, so FYI. 11:54 Speaker 1: Can't this is not you don't just get to take that and then 11:58 Speaker 1: say, Well, I'm doing just the same thing as keto. Right? Yeah. Right. I'm very good. Time and effort to be in keto, that is going to work better. But it's a nice supplement to add into any, 12:09 Speaker 1: whatever, stack or if you're already a hard worker. 12:13 Speaker 1: And 12:14 Speaker 1: a couple things to note. So basically, its job is to help help you burn fat. 12:20 Speaker 1: That results in maybe a little bit more energy, right? Because now you even have backup energy. 12:25 Speaker 1: Your easy glucose 12:26 Speaker 1: is still there for energy. 12:29 Speaker 1: So if you burn off all of your fat during a workout, now you're not gonna burn the whole thing off, but there's a limit to how much fat your body will burn off in a session, in a certain time frame, 12:38 Speaker 1: and then it will start looking for something else. So 12:41 Speaker 1: it does result in potential, like, performance enhancing effects in 1 single workout session or event because now we will have more energy because you're gonna actually use all your use some fat, then bam, I still got some 12:53 Speaker 1: glucose left over. 12:56 Speaker 1: Those of you who are taking t 3 or any thyroid hormones, you should not take L Carditine. That's a common knowledge deal that it will just 13:05 Speaker 1: it'll it'll blunt the effects of t 3. 13:10 Speaker 1: So you should not take L carnitine at all. 13:13 Speaker 1: I wouldn't take caffeine within, like, 2 hours of you taking your dose before or after anyway. T 3. 13:20 Speaker 1: But that's the 1, I guess, warning. 13:23 Speaker 1: Other than that, 13:25 Speaker 1: it's fine My other than the injectable 13:28 Speaker 0: experience with it is I love it. I mean, 13:31 Speaker 0: I do feel like it does give me energy. 13:33 Speaker 0: I always say this, whether it's placebo or not, I think it gives me energy, so it works for me. 13:40 Speaker 0: The negative for me is just that you have to inject a mil, 13:45 Speaker 0: which is like 600 mg a day, 13:48 Speaker 0: which becomes a lot. I mean, you're pinning, you can't use an insulin needle. It just doesn't pull out. It will take you about a day and 0.5. So you have to use a typical needle and or syringe and 14:00 Speaker 0: pinning every single day sucks. 14:02 Speaker 0: So for me, I don't know, I generally run it for about a month and then I'm like, done. But I do love it, man. It really does burn fat really well. 14:09 Speaker 0: It goes with somebody that runs a diet that I run and just kind of compounds on top of it. So it works really well for me. 14:17 Speaker 0: So anybody that's trying to burn fat, 14:19 Speaker 0: stack it, you know, stack it with Lavamino-1MQ, 14:22 Speaker 0: I think that's a really good 1 to run with it. 14:26 Speaker 1: Retrifutide will always just throw that into the mix probably every episode, but that's gonna be good to run with it as well. But yeah. Yep. 2nd, that 5 m 1 is a really good idea. Those those 2 combined will will really help. Yeah. That's gonna help make your fat easier to shuttle, 14:43 Speaker 1: L Carnitine will 14:44 Speaker 1: shuttle it right into the furnace. 14:48 Speaker 1: Yeah. If you're a gym rat and you've not tried it, give it a shot. You will like it. It will work really well. And let's see if you can get past a full month of pinning every day. If you can, awesome. Good on you. 14:59 Speaker 1: Yep. Eat your own baby. Mean, you know, it's shoulder pins. Right? Little smaller guys that aren't insulin needles that are big enough. Right? You just then switch 15:06 Speaker 1: switch spots. 15:09 Speaker 0: You know, it's it is thick, but I still I wouldn't I don't know. I I almost wouldn't mix it though with anything else, like like testosterone and any other intramuscular It's funny you say that. Did that this morning. I actually mixed because like, do I wanna I wanna pin both these? Because I do my testosterone Monday, Wednesday, Friday. So I mixed it. I don't know. It seemed to work all right. 15:30 Speaker 1: It's I'm down. It looked funny in the syringe, 15:35 Speaker 1: Little bit. Because you mixed the oil and water together. So, I mean, 15:39 Speaker 1: I suppose it's all going to the same place anyway. 15:41 Speaker 0: That's how I looked at it, man. I mean, I'd I probably I look was like, should I probably not? Let's do it. Worked out well. 15:48 Speaker 1: For me. 15:50 Speaker 0: Mean, dude, you see what mean? We, you know, I take a lot of peptides and I've been running testosterone replacement for a long time. 15:57 Speaker 0: Was just Will and I were just talking off camera. 15:59 Speaker 0: I'm about to come into my season where I'm going to be a reboot. I'm gonna basically take a whole lot of nothing, just TRT. 16:07 Speaker 0: I don't run over 180 16:10 Speaker 0: mg, but I'm gonna do a reboot in November and December. I look forward to it and just 16:15 Speaker 0: let my body just, 16:16 Speaker 0: I don't because I take a lot of supplements. It'll be cool, man. 16:21 Speaker 1: Yeah. It'll be cool. 16:22 Speaker 0: So so give it a shot. I think you'll love it. If you're a gym route, you will definitely love it. But that is that. I love it. I'll give you a little visual again. L Carnitine is what it looks like. But yeah, let's dig into you, man. So Will, he really tapped on it. He ran, he I'll tell you just because I've known Will a little bit, I'll just kind of tell you a little bit of what I know him real quick. He's a smart freaking dude. You know, he is a bright guy. 16:47 Speaker 0: He knows a lot about nutrition and just a lot about a lot. So 16:52 Speaker 0: tell us a little bit about your story in regards to 16:57 Speaker 0: you. I'll tell a little bit about me, then we'll tell how you and I connected. Sure. I guess I practiced at this through our 17:04 Speaker 1: mutual program, but 17:06 Speaker 1: and I'll make it I know people don't wanna listen forever, but 17:10 Speaker 1: I'm in California now. I'm in Huntington Beach, but I was born and raised in Seattle, in Kirkland, specifically, where Costco is from. 17:17 Speaker 1: And 17:18 Speaker 1: I don't know, dude. I was good at sports. I liked sports. That's what motivated 17:23 Speaker 1: me for a long time. I went and played 17:27 Speaker 1: played college football, 17:29 Speaker 1: baseball briefly. 17:31 Speaker 1: Played better at baseball, but I don't know. I threw too hard and had not correct 17:36 Speaker 1: mechanics, 17:37 Speaker 1: and that'll tear an arm up. 17:39 Speaker 1: Anyway, I played played division 1 college football. I 17:44 Speaker 1: when I got to campus was the 1st time my my freshman year, I said, again, we get there. I was just gonna go to the NFL. Right? Like, because you're a stud. Everybody 17:52 Speaker 1: until you get there and you realize, like, everybody is a stud. Yeah. 17:56 Speaker 1: Little bit different here. Every single person was 17:58 Speaker 1: Allstate and the best in their conference and the best thing that their town had ever heard of. Right? Right. Right. And 18:04 Speaker 1: my 1st year, just was like, I barely went to class. 18:07 Speaker 1: Probably graduate, got like a 2.5 after that year. And then sat down and said, Damn, 18:15 Speaker 1: probably not gonna go to the NFL. If so, it's a long shot. I better have a backup plan. And so I started studying and I actually 18:21 Speaker 1: did pretty well. Got, like, 4.0 in every class I ever took the rest of the time and started to enjoy it. I always hated school. 18:30 Speaker 1: Yeah. But realized that maybe because I was 18:33 Speaker 1: learning things that mattered now instead of just general ed requirements. 18:39 Speaker 1: Anyway, ended up hurting myself, but I played, ended up you know, had a full ride, but I graduated 18:45 Speaker 1: with that full ride. School paid for. 18:48 Speaker 1: Injured a lot. Probably broke a bone every single year I ever played football, 18:52 Speaker 1: 1 or 2. But 18:55 Speaker 1: I then started a business I majored in business and criminal justice. I actually had double majored, so I had some time, took some extra business classes. 19:02 Speaker 1: I started a company 19:04 Speaker 1: working in 19:06 Speaker 1: jail alternatives. I basically started a private company, taking people out of jail and putting them on house arrest 19:12 Speaker 1: and contracts with like 35 different cities and 19:16 Speaker 1: putting this SCRAM bracelet. This is a remote alcohol monitor on people's ankles. 19:21 Speaker 1: And 19:23 Speaker 1: I guess I wanted to help people 19:26 Speaker 1: out of trouble 19:28 Speaker 1: as opposed to get them in trouble 19:30 Speaker 1: at the time, but I was also at that time 19:33 Speaker 1: worried about then is, like, where my, like, alcoholism addiction kinda caught up to me. I'm a product of, like, trying an OxyContin and then loving it. 19:43 Speaker 1: There's a reason I'm sober now. I've been sober for about 6 years. 6 years kind of in January. 19:50 Speaker 1: Probably realized I had a problem 19:53 Speaker 1: after I sold that company. 19:55 Speaker 1: So I ran that, sold that company, 19:58 Speaker 1: and knew I had some issues and started to go to, like, a string of rehabs 20:02 Speaker 1: and 20:03 Speaker 1: kind of battled that for a while, for 10 years, I suppose. 20:07 Speaker 1: In and out, sober, then not sober. In between then, you know, have a job. So like I said, I worked for Gold's Gym, was a GM, and then kind of VP 20:17 Speaker 1: of 2 of those gyms running all the trainers and all the memberships. 20:22 Speaker 1: Hell, we the we were on, like, the number 1 training department in The United States. We had giant gyms. We were right next to Microsoft 20:29 Speaker 1: and great fitness directors who would help, but and a cool owner. I actually enjoyed my time. The owner was awesome. I think ultimately my addiction got me 20:40 Speaker 1: let go, and it was not it was for lack of being responsible and not lack of production. 20:45 Speaker 1: But 20:47 Speaker 1: I then 20:49 Speaker 1: I don't know. I mean, kind of fast forward. Right? I've 20:53 Speaker 1: that job, I worked at Nutrishop for a couple months 20:56 Speaker 1: and just sat there and studied every single ingredient. Said, How am I gonna learn all these supplements? 21:01 Speaker 1: Always even throughout the addiction, I 21:04 Speaker 1: would always stay in shape. I'd always go to the gym. That was 1 good way to keep my brain happy. 21:08 Speaker 0: Yeah, me too. That's funny. Be alive. And 21:12 Speaker 1: so 21:14 Speaker 1: fitness has always been there. 21:17 Speaker 1: Studied every single damn nutrient. All right, how am gonna study? How am gonna know what are these 20 pre burnouts? What do they do? I don't know. I guess I'll just study every single individual ingredient 21:26 Speaker 1: the whole way down. So I spent a lot of time doing that. 21:29 Speaker 1: And then most recently, 21:31 Speaker 1: I 21:33 Speaker 1: have been running basically a small little business on my own with friends, selling 21:37 Speaker 1: supplements, advising people. I've been a trainer, so I have this training certification. 21:43 Speaker 1: I haven't kept up with the general, the requirements, so it's lapsed, but I but I held a certification at 1 point. But 21:50 Speaker 1: I have spent the last maybe 8 years 21:53 Speaker 1: selling supplements and advising people on how to take supplements and getting feedback and all kinds of things, from performance enhancing like PEDs 22:00 Speaker 1: to over the counter 22:02 Speaker 1: supplements to peptides. 22:04 Speaker 1: Peptides have made some emergence recently, so I got into that 1 early. 22:09 Speaker 1: And 22:11 Speaker 1: so I have, I don't know, dealt with thousands of people and got all of their feedback 22:18 Speaker 1: Hands on. Yeah. 22:20 Speaker 1: I have a lot of experience 22:21 Speaker 1: seeing results from different supplements and learning that, man, not everything right, you can read a profile on a supplement. This is what it's supposed to do. 22:29 Speaker 1: Yeah, different people. Some people say, I love that. It did awesome. Some people say, It didn't do anything to me. Okay? It is what it is. But 22:36 Speaker 1: nowadays, 22:38 Speaker 1: life's good. 22:40 Speaker 1: You and I started a actual supplement company, 22:45 Speaker 1: and we're doing well and busy and 22:47 Speaker 1: life's good. I live now 22:50 Speaker 1: girlfriend and her son, which is awesome. We're going to this football game on Friday. He's 9. 22:56 Speaker 1: And 22:57 Speaker 1: I am starting to learn how to help him with homework. 23:04 Speaker 1: Me and a dad. That's fine, dude. I like to read now. I mean, it's so funny. The more I mature, the more I my parents were both school teachers. 23:12 Speaker 1: I remember when I hated homework as a kid. Right? My mom would be like, how do you not like homework? 23:18 Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. What is wrong with you? What do you mean what do you mean I'm supposed to like homework? But I don't know. I read every night and I enjoy that. I don't ever watch TV. I'd rather I'd rather read and 23:30 Speaker 1: be active, and I still 23:32 Speaker 1: am active and playing around 23:34 Speaker 1: all the time. Yeah. Got a pool and 23:38 Speaker 1: yeah. Think getting the girls into business, keep me busy. 23:41 Speaker 0: And now, ladies and gentlemen, he is now officially back on Instagram. 23:46 Speaker 0: He's a Will is not Will's been a private individual as long as I've known him. 1 of the most private people that I know, actually. He likes his space. He likes to kinda like 23:56 Speaker 0: not, you know, he's definitely not a social media type guy at all, but because of what we do, we have made somewhat 24:04 Speaker 0: of a company decision to get his butt on there, 24:07 Speaker 0: which is good. People want a little piece of him. Probably, most people hear a lot, know a lot about me. I'll be brief. Same thing. I started lifting weights. My uncle, thank God for him, In 8th grade, cousin and I were about to go in to play football. So in 8th grade, 24:24 Speaker 0: uncle was just 24:25 Speaker 0: an ex wrestler, 24:26 Speaker 0: was ripped, you know? And like he 24:29 Speaker 0: took us to the gym and showed us how to lift weights, man. And I never stopped. I freaking loved it. I loved it from day 1. And like Will just said, never stopped. You know, I just football, 24:41 Speaker 0: blah, blah, I just loved it. I mean, even in my addiction, not when I was really, really, really bad, but I always lifted through the addiction because I loved it that much. 24:51 Speaker 0: Ran a mortgage company for a lot of years. 24:54 Speaker 0: And how Will and I kind of came into hoot, so we're both sober, as he said. 24:59 Speaker 0: We met at a Monday night meeting, and 25:01 Speaker 0: the cool part of that was, 25:04 Speaker 0: connect through sobriety, 25:06 Speaker 0: obviously. Anybody that connects through that stuff obviously has a bond. But where Will and I went 25:12 Speaker 0: past that was we loved just talking about exercise. We loved talking about nutrition and 25:18 Speaker 0: loved talking about supplement stacks and just all kinds of stuff. 25:23 Speaker 0: We'd be talking about, Hey, have you thought about this? And he would always know what I was talking about. So we'd talk about all these different things. And that was just kind of the genesis of the friendship. 25:32 Speaker 0: How he and I kind of came to start a supplement company is a pretty cool story, actually. It just is a fluke, 25:39 Speaker 0: kinda. 25:40 Speaker 0: Mortgages were slow, I just needed an outlet to put some positive stuff out. I just started doing a fitness channel and just for whatever reason, the fitness channel did really well really quickly, and I just was kind of surprised by it myself. 25:53 Speaker 0: And I started coaching a lot of men, 25:56 Speaker 0: and they all naturally wanted to know what I was taking. So I was obviously 26:00 Speaker 0: Will had his 26:02 Speaker 0: little business 26:03 Speaker 0: that I would get my supplements from him. So he started selling me supplements at a good price, and I put my margin on it to my clientele. 26:12 Speaker 0: And because the fitness channel grew so quick, we were selling a lot, and it just kept growing and growing and growing. And November, 26:20 Speaker 0: give or take, we went to coffee and we said, Listen, man, there's something here, 26:25 Speaker 0: and maybe we should make this a business. 26:28 Speaker 0: That's kind of the 26:30 Speaker 0: beginning of where Warrior Maker started. Come January, 26:34 Speaker 0: Warrior Maker was born, Warrior Maker was born. And the cool part of that is it 26:40 Speaker 0: grew really fast. 26:42 Speaker 0: We are blessed. The supplement company just still 26:45 Speaker 0: blows our mind. We're now in a 3,000 26:48 Speaker 0: square foot 26:50 Speaker 0: warehouse, 26:51 Speaker 0: which is not bad for 10 months in business. But the 26:55 Speaker 0: beautiful part about that is this. 26:58 Speaker 0: It wouldn't have happened if either of us weren't coming together because he had his small little business that he was just doing, and he is a very techy guy. That's why he's behind the scenes all the time. He's the brains. 27:09 Speaker 0: And he had all that stuff he was starting to cultivate and get his softwares and stuff ready. Will has been cultivating his relationships 27:18 Speaker 0: where we get our supplements for 8 years. He has great, great deep, deep ties 27:24 Speaker 0: on where we get our stuff from, so he had that side. And what I brought to the equation was just my social media channels were very large and they were bringing in a lot of clientele and they came together 27:36 Speaker 0: and it just grew. 27:38 Speaker 0: What I like to say 27:39 Speaker 0: is 27:41 Speaker 0: God put his hand on it, man. You have 2 guys that love nutrition. 27:45 Speaker 0: We love talking about nutrition. We love studying nutrition. We geek out on it. 27:51 Speaker 0: Just do. We just love that stuff. 27:54 Speaker 0: So there's a passion there. But I think where I think people connect and we connect the best is 28:00 Speaker 0: we're both sober and we only stay sober if we are men of integrity. So this company, Warrior Makers, is built upon 28:07 Speaker 0: integrity, 28:08 Speaker 0: character. 28:10 Speaker 0: That's just, it will not bend. If there's a problem with a product, we fix it. We don't ask, we fix it. It's done. Like, no problem, we'll fix it. We're huge supporters of veterans. 28:20 Speaker 0: Obviously, the flag's behind us, my hat. We're huge supporters of police officers, firemen, 28:26 Speaker 0: 1st responders. 28:27 Speaker 0: We just have a heart to help people. And that's the basis of how it came together. 28:33 Speaker 0: We're very blessed. The company's grown so fast. 28:37 Speaker 0: And I truly, my opinion, I won't answer this for you, Will, but my opinion is we truly 28:41 Speaker 0: care 28:43 Speaker 0: about helping people get healthy, 28:46 Speaker 0: not just in supplements, 28:47 Speaker 0: but in nutrition. 28:50 Speaker 0: You hear us talk about testosterone replacement, 28:53 Speaker 0: creatine, 28:54 Speaker 0: all the way down the road. I think that's why the company has done so well and so many people 29:01 Speaker 0: support it heavily. We have a really good group of people that continue to buy each month, 29:06 Speaker 0: because 29:07 Speaker 0: hopefully, 29:08 Speaker 0: we treat you well. 29:11 Speaker 0: That'll never 29:12 Speaker 0: change. 29:14 Speaker 0: We have some cool stuff coming down. I'll release some of the stuff that we have in mind. 29:18 Speaker 0: We'll probably laugh when I say this. I'm the ideas guy. He's a tech guy. He's a brains, and I'll just say, Hey, listen, I got an idea. And he's like, Oh, man, here we go. But these ideas have some of them have been really rad. They've done well for us, but we 29:30 Speaker 0: want to do some outreach to some stuff. So we'll be talking about some of the things that we plan on doing with 29:35 Speaker 0: some of the success we've been blessed with. So we'll be releasing that stuff. But hopefully, 29:41 Speaker 0: that gives the people that had questions about who we are, 29:46 Speaker 0: what we do, that's who we are. 29:49 Speaker 0: We really do believe integrity and character. 29:51 Speaker 0: It's just who we are, man. Our company is built upon that without a doubt. 29:57 Speaker 0: Yeah. 29:58 Speaker 1: That's it, right? Yes, we Right? 30:01 Speaker 1: Have 30:02 Speaker 1: thrown away and lost lots and lots of money, 30:05 Speaker 0: doing the right thing. Testing products too, man. You know, you have a lot of companies out there that are popping up left and right, and, 30:13 Speaker 0: guaranteed they're not spending the money that we spend to test them, that kind of sucks, but it is what it is. It costs a lot to have it tested, but there's no other option, man. It is what it is. We have Yeah. Or making the sacrifice, right, when you just spent $20 30:25 Speaker 1: on something and then tests come back bad. 30:28 Speaker 0: Yeah. 30:29 Speaker 0: Which we've tasted a little while for a few months, so we've just 30:33 Speaker 0: It goes in the trash, is what it is. Yep. 30:37 Speaker 1: And 30:38 Speaker 1: yes, we have learned a lot and bumped our head against the wall lots of times 30:45 Speaker 1: and realized how much 30:47 Speaker 1: taxes cost. 30:49 Speaker 1: Oh, my goodness. But, 30:52 Speaker 1: yeah, dude, we do 30:54 Speaker 1: care. We will always 30:56 Speaker 1: you know, I've had other jobs where it's amazing 31:00 Speaker 1: that the boss, I'd say, well, this obvious thing happened to this customer. Right? It's, like, obviously not their fault at all, or they should know. And the boss is like, well, just don't fucking don't tell them. Then, no, we're not gonna give them their money back. And I'm what? Never. So, basically, our policy is to always do the opposite of that, where it's like, dude, if it just 31:17 Speaker 1: if it makes common sense, we will always do the right thing. 31:20 Speaker 1: Yeah. 31:21 Speaker 1: Before we run a sale and somebody came in and bought bought something like that morning of because we started the sale late, we will 31:29 Speaker 1: send their money back, the portion, you know, the percentage of the sale. We just refund it to them and then say, Hey, by the way- Oh, I'm asking. We've done a new service, man. You miss our sale. And 31:39 Speaker 1: we'll always give people the benefit of the doubt. Right? There's been lots of people like, This didn't 31:44 Speaker 1: GHK-seven, 31:45 Speaker 1: like, it hurt me. Like, 31:47 Speaker 1: Yeah, well, we told you, and that's But 31:51 Speaker 1: we'll just give you what else you want. You can just we'll throw it away or you throw it away or use it, whatever. We'll give you a new 1. Now, people don't- 32:01 Speaker 1: Take that and run with it? Yeah, 32:03 Speaker 1: exactly. Please don't take it and So do 32:06 Speaker 1: we do need to be smart and we're learning 32:08 Speaker 1: more. But, 32:10 Speaker 1: yeah, we care that we do the right things and we are there and we only wanna put actual products that work 32:18 Speaker 1: because a whole lot of this fitness industry, man, is a lot of just 32:22 Speaker 1: marketing and colors and shininess. 32:24 Speaker 1: Right? Just 32:25 Speaker 1: who cares if the product actually works. You just market it well, it'll sell and then we'll get money and we don't wanna be like that. 32:32 Speaker 0: Yeah, man. We think big too. We do things that we 32:36 Speaker 0: want and we hear that other people want. Anybody that knows that we have a face serum that we threw out and it's doing really well, and we're about literally days away from releasing the GHK-3C shampoo, 32:46 Speaker 0: which so many people have been. I've been using it in my beard, my head, I'm about to release a couple videos and reels on that. So we have cool stuff coming down the pike and again, to be redundant for a reason, because we truly care, man. We are truly trying to put good things out on the market that work, 33:04 Speaker 0: top notch products. 33:07 Speaker 1: We And- had a girl I had a girl come to me yesterday and say, Now what in the hell did you put in that shampoo? And I was like, What do you mean? She's like, 33:14 Speaker 1: I thought it was just gonna be like, Okay, cool. It puts the peptides in there and it might help regrow hair, but goddamn, my hair feels great and it's silky smooth. And I mean, she 33:23 Speaker 1: knows what she's doing female. And like you and I were like, I don't know, cool, hair feels 33:28 Speaker 0: clean. Right. 33:30 Speaker 1: But, 33:31 Speaker 1: so that's cool. Stuff works, man. No, actually good product. Like, not to mention, you know, in addition to 34:03 Speaker 0: because I know you wanted to see, talk to Will as well, because I do read the comments and stuff, but I hope that helps for you guys, We truly care, we truly love what we do, and we are so freaking grateful for how fast this 34:16 Speaker 0: podcast has grown and what it's bringing in regards to the business, not because any type of finances, but just rad humans, man. We really, really are appreciative of all you guys. So we wanted to kinda drop this for you, the people that had questions, man. That's it. Yes, sir. Welcome. Q and A will be coming out next, 34:34 Speaker 0: but anything else, 34:36 Speaker 1: Nothing. 34:37 Speaker 0: All right, my friends. Well, we will catch you on the flip side. All right. Later.
