CJC-1295

Metabolic

A synthetic analogue of growth hormone-releasing hormone, which acts on the pituitary to increase release of growth hormone.

What it is

Overview

CJC-1295 is a synthetic analogue of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH). It acts upstream of growth hormone itself, prompting the pituitary to release more of its own rather than supplying the hormone directly.

It exists in two forms that are frequently discussed as one. The version with a drug affinity complex (DAC) binds albumin and has a substantially longer duration of action; the version without it does not. Their pharmacokinetics differ enough that results attributed to one should not be read as applying to the other. Published human data is limited to small early-phase studies.

The evidence base

What the research examines

Pituitary growth hormone release and downstream IGF-1, in small early-phase human studies. Long-term outcome data is not available.

Reported protocols

Attributed to the person who described them. Amounts, timing and interactions as stated on air.

No protocol reported

Nobody has described a protocol for CJC-1295 on the show. When someone does, it will appear here attributed to them.

Reported in the literature

Adverse effects

Injection-site reactions and flushing have been reported in the early-phase literature. Effects associated with sustained elevation of growth hormone and IGF-1 are the relevant long-term consideration and are not characterised for this compound.
