0:00Speaker 0What's up, my friends? Welcome back to another episode of the Peptide of the Week. I'm your host, JD Denham.
0:14Speaker 0Give us a little rundown, man. What how's your week been? What's life been like for you?
0:30Speaker 1play that role. Right? Because my girlfriend and her 9 year old son just moved, moved in completely with me.
0:39Speaker 1that's cool, dude. I don't know. It's fine. It's fine. It's fun. I got nothing really bad to say. I have no complaints.
0:46Speaker 0That's a good 1, man. She's a good, good human, man. I like her a lot. She's laid back, dude. She's, she's easygoing and supportive of everything I do. The
1:12Speaker 0You have now officially become the man that can make him a man. So take the responsibility in that. I'll tell you this, well, a little guidance of my journey through life. My wife who,
1:25Speaker 0took my daughter under her wing and truly treated her like her own. I've never seen it. It's very hard because it's not your child, man. It's just different love. But Alyssa was able to do that with my daughter.
1:36Speaker 0Know, it's a blessing, man. So a big responsibility you got there, buddy. At least he's a boy. Girls are harder. I know.
1:53Speaker 11 that's gonna be like, oh, it's not my kid. Right? And right. And I'm never gonna tell her like, hey, get
2:23Speaker 0Well, my friends, today we have chosen to talk about 2 peptides in particular. We're going talk about IGF-1LR3,
2:32Speaker 0which is a great 1. We're going talk about VIP, very different in what they do. But let's start with, let's start with the fun 1. Well, let's talk about the IGF-1LR-3.
2:41Speaker 0Let's talk about that and tell us a little bit about what it does and why should we take it?
2:55Speaker 1I guess, learned about supplements, I've heard of this and known it's been around. Right?
3:10Speaker 1it's not an ester, but just a longer acting active 0.5 life. So go for its regular IGF-one is like 20 to 30 minutes active.
3:46Speaker 1well, that's what we test for when somebody's testing out your HGH levels, having a blood test, right? They don't actually test the human growth hormone. They test the IGF-one,
4:03Speaker 1just giving you more insulin like growth factor, okay, which is going to make you grow muscles faster, right? It's going to increase your
4:33Speaker 1is distributed into our body. And the bigger 1 is the glycemic is the carbs. Okay. Sugar, carbs, you eat carbs, they break down into sugars. We call that like glycogen.
4:45Speaker 1They get stored in your muscles or they get stored roaming around, for your body to burn off as energy. Yep. Usually
4:56Speaker 1as entered, right, and we don't use that, it then goes, okay, let's store this. This is good energy, right? Let's store this for later. And if they're not great carbs, it'll store as fat.
5:07Speaker 1the carb, right, the lower on the glycemic index, the more it will store in your muscles, which is good for future use when using muscles instead of fat storage.
5:20Speaker 0Well, you said that there's a little difference in regards to the carb that you eat is going to store differently. So you're talking about Doritos compared to like a sweet potato or something, Bock a big difference on what it does. Yeah.
5:40Speaker 1know that. A lot of people don't know. They think all fruit is good. Right? No. Fruit is good. Like, it has all these good minerals,
5:48Speaker 1minerals, vitamins, all that stuff. That's good. But as far as like weight loss goes Yeah. No, no. It's the same thing. Right? Sugar
6:02Speaker 1a banana and a and a Snickers bar, they're already essentially pre broke down. They are sugar. That's why we get a
6:29Speaker 1sugar and simple, mostly your simple carbs, right? The more simple the carb, the easier it turns into sugar,
6:37Speaker 1and down all the way to the low glycemic ones. The low glycemic is all your complex carbohydrates.
6:43Speaker 1Those are the good ones. Those ones give you long lasting energy, not a big energy spike. They give you long lasting energy. And if you don't use that energy, it is not
6:57Speaker 0getting stored in your muscles for later use. So it makes a huge difference on what type of carb. Yeah, yeah. Well, I mean, that's, that's, that's good to know because I think a lot of people have no clue about what you just said. I mean, to most people, I know because I've talked to them about that and they, you know, they will think that, you know, you know, certain things that they are eating are good for them, but it depends on what your objective is, right? It depends on your goal. I'm trying to lose weight. Bananas aren't going be the best approach.
7:23Speaker 1timing of the day, like the timing of your carbon intake too is huge. Okay. Like I actually think, Hey man, fruit, fruit is good. It's got good necessary vitamins and minerals. Let's, but let's eat it at a time where we burn off the sugar that it gives us. You don't want to load up on let's talk on that. Then
7:42Speaker 1when? To say that because it's let's let's let people know that because that's important. So when would you suggest they- In the morning. In the morning.
7:48Speaker 1Because you're burning after fuel all day. Yep. And even it probably won't fuel you all day, but like you will at least
7:54Speaker 1burn the sugar off. Okay. By walking around and talking to people and thinking, you know, you'll burn that sugar off and you will keep them vitamins and minerals and the good things about those fruits
8:08Speaker 1You know, sugar, sugar carbs is our body's number 1 1st choice of energy. Okay? Our body will always look to those 1st to fuel us to move around. Okay?
8:18Speaker 1So if you're at night and you eat that stuff and then 10PM rolls around, oh, you know, you ate it at 9. 10PM rolls around, you're going to sleep.
8:28Speaker 1You lay down, your body is not using any of that. Sorry. It's going up. Well, might not use that. Let's just turn it into fat. Now- That ice cream was not a good idea. The ice cream was yeah, right. It was not a good idea. The and also just think of even regular carbs. So simple, let's say white rice,
8:46Speaker 1any simple carb, you also takes about an hour to 2 to break down into your body. And then now it is finally turned into sugar ready for you. So so that's why we say, like, don't really don't
8:58Speaker 1don't eat a ton of carbs at nighttime even. So even if dinner's at 06:30, right, by 07:30, 08:39,
9:05Speaker 1it is finally turned into sugar. And what are you doing? Sitting on the couch, ready for bed, and then going to sleep. And all of those cars are just gonna sit on you and convert to fat in the middle of the night. It's funny you say that, man. I, so a little funny story about what you just said. So I posted something in the beginning of when I started the fitness channel that talked about that and,
9:26Speaker 0talked about insulin spikes, blah, blah, blah. And dude, it just people just attacked me, don't I? I was just saying like, listen, it's probably not a good idea to eat carbs before bed. It was a very simple post.
9:35Speaker 1Dude, it just took off. Everybody's arguing with each other and stuff, but it's people love their carbs, man. They will fight to death for their time. That hill for defending the car down that hill. And it's, you know, but I am a proponent of eating before bed. Okay. When we're asleep,
9:52Speaker 1our body does not have any stress. Okay. Our body is like, again, we're cavemen. Think of our body just thinks that we are cavemen.
10:09Speaker 1and buff. Okay? You die pretty quick. If you do, our body wants to have some muscle, like to have a good, good layer of fat on us, right, for storage later. So sugars are number 1 easy convert gives us energy, then our body stores 2 things and we can see them, We have muscle and fat. Our body keeps on those. Those are our backup policies, right? In case the
10:53Speaker 1If you eat eat a big meal and then you eat some fruit at the end, as we know, our body
10:59Speaker 1goes through miles of intestines and is slow to digest. Okay? So if you put that fruit on top
11:10Speaker 1And what does fruit do when it ferments? It gives us gas. So you will be very gassy if you let your fruit essentially rot in your stomach on top of other food while it's digesting.
11:28Speaker 0secret is out folks. Why don't we do that part? We're eating a bunch When we talk about VIP, it would give you another little eating tip.
11:34Speaker 0Well, let's talk about that real quick. So, so building muscle shoots. So obviously the 1 of the biggest questions that we get on this podcast are, how do I, how do I, what peptide in particular is going to help me gain muscle? And we've talked about it numerous times in regards to listen,
11:49Speaker 0peptides aren't necessarily there yet when it comes to like, you know, if you eating more is going be better or anybody that runs gear, things like that. They're not, those 2 aren't going to come close, but IGF-one would be 1 that you want to throw into your arsenal. If you're someone that's trying to build muscle, IGF-one is going to definitely be 1 of the ones that you want to use. Right?
12:09Speaker 1And the reason so take, so nutrient partitioning, think about this. I really think the IGF-one should be taken for the most part post workout. Okay. When we work out, we're tearing muscles down. Now our body is ready to rebuild those muscles with nutrients. So post workout,
12:29Speaker 1start eating protein and a little bit of carbs right after that shot. If you're a low carb guy, we can talk about this, but like you need a little bit of carbs if you're doing IGF-one so you don't go hypoglycemic.
12:45Speaker 1shove all of that protein direct mainline into your muscles to rebuild, and they are going to rebuild bigger and better.
12:53Speaker 0And so what he just said to kind of break down down shortly is like, just like, if you're someone like me, I don't eat a lot of carbs, know, I eat, I'm a high fat guy. Anybody knows me knows that, but if I'm going to use IGF-one, which I don't use on a daily basis, because it's not, it doesn't fit within my objectives of my diet and what I'm looking for, but I will have carbs. I will, I will like load up on carbs and I'll take the IGF-one and like he said, it's gonna shove that right into you. Like it's gonna take that and use it properly. Absolutely. And even more, right? Like we know,
13:25Speaker 1yeah, so it's gonna take all the protein, well, the carbs and the car if you're on keto too, it's really not gonna throw you out of keto because it's just gonna it is gonna just suck some carbs in and throw them into where they need to be. And it's gonna suck the protein in that you are eating and just shove that into your muscles, and that's what muscles are made out of. So if we can get, you know, 2, 3 times as much protein into our muscles,
13:48Speaker 1post workout when they are, right, when they're broke down and they're just there like a sponge ready, like feed me,
14:14Speaker 0Yes. Well, he was saying though, and so, you know, when it comes to just diet and lifestyle, you know, Will and I are very different in our diet and things like that. So we have different objectives, right? Like I like the ketogenic diets. I love the carnivore diets.
14:32Speaker 0he and I would use it differently. So if you're someone like me, which a lot of people that follow my Instagram in particular will follow my diet, which is going to be a carnivore type diet or a ketogenic type diet, guys like us or gals like gals too, you don't want to be running IGF-one daily
14:50Speaker 0your objectives are going to be different, right? Unless you're going to have some carbs,
14:54Speaker 1you're going to want to run it when you have carbs before a workout. But on normal, I don't run it every day. You would run it every day because you eat carbs. It would be something that you should take daily. Right? Yes. But not indefinitely. Like you still would want to cycle it. I mean, I'm not, we're not, he's not saying every day in perpetuity forever, but yeah, a couple of months, 8 weeks, right? Probably roughly. About 8 weeks. So I would go every day. You're probably going to start, start a little bit lower and you're gonna need to increase a bit,
15:51Speaker 0and then you don't feel very good. Yeah, you'd be feeling like shit, tired, depressed.
15:57Speaker 1Yeah, I'm just feeling like, oh. Yeah. Just very blah. Like like, basically, it just puts you like a keto flu feeling, but you
16:10Speaker 1in that again. Right. So be careful a couple things. I mean, you know, and you start low, we can talk about the dosages.
16:22Speaker 1but eat carbs with it even if you are on a carnivore or keto diet. Well, should let me sit on that for a 2nd. So I
16:31Speaker 0have used it and I've used it the way that Will and I have kind of studied it. And like we're just talking about, and I will load up on some carbs, take a shot of the IGF-one.
16:40Speaker 0And I'm not kidding you the next day when I do that load up on carbs the next day, my stomach is freaking just chiseled.
16:47Speaker 1just crazy how well it works. Yeah. Yeah. It's amazing. It's amazing. And there's, there's a couple extra hacks is okay. Let's say you want to do a cheat day
16:56Speaker 1or a cheat meal, right? Is your friend. I mean, and forget the workout portion of it. Okay. Just say, I want to just, I just want to eat a ton of carbs. So if you do your, do your IGF-one
17:07Speaker 1and then eat all your carbs, that body, those carbs are not gonna go into fat. They're just gonna get sucked up to all of your muscles. Also,
17:18Speaker 1would suggest, so the normal dose and I would suggest is you do it post workout. Okay. Because that is when, and then eat protein and carbs and you will get the biggest muscle gain right then. But if you, let's say, want to get a huge pump at the gym again, guys, it's just gonna suck
17:35Speaker 1up all the carbs. If you do it pre workout and eat a little bit of carbs pre workout, then go lift weights. You'll have the biggest pump in your life.
17:44Speaker 1Because it's just gonna shove all those cars right into the muscle where you're asking it to go
17:55Speaker 0you're going to get huge. If you're a single guy and you're on a ketogenic diet, there you go, man. You want to go to the beach 1 day with
18:01Speaker 0all grip? You literally get twice the size, especially if you're on keto. Yeah, you eat some carbs. Like imagine you just, if you just eat cars regularly in keto and then go work out, you get big, but this is for sure. This will change the game too. Absolutely. It's fun to, yeah, it's fun to play with. It is. It is. It's gonna give a show too much. Anything. And what would you say? I know you just kind of already touched on it, but, just say, we'll get it kind of dig a little deeper. So we always talk about which ones we would run-in like a synergistic order. I know that you said, HGH and Tesamorelin, Ipamorelin mix. Any other ones, any type of secretive dog? I mean,
18:51Speaker 1I don't know. Really anything else is fine, but really those are the goal. If the goal, the goal to take this stuff is to build muscle, gain muscle, or get a big pump, that's what you want to take with it. Anybody that should not take it.
19:15Speaker 1I mean, well, I guess if you're diabetic, you have to take insulin, but if you're diabetic, I would be careful with this. I would probably steer clear, talk to your doctor.
19:23Speaker 1Doctors are good, man. Good doctors, really, you should go in there and say, here's what I'm doing to kill myself.
20:03Speaker 0I don't know. Be careful with that. That's great, man. I mean, and again, like he said, if you were running a ketogenic diet, specifically a carnivore diet, if we're running on no carbs, this is not your friend. Use it properly and not daily. This isn't the guy you want to run if you're, if you're like me on a carnivore. I just want to reiterate that fact. Yep. 20 to 30. And if you are, if you want to do it, do 20 to 30 g post, post injection.
20:27Speaker 0Do that. Don't don't take it without having a little shot of carbs right after. But it is a great compound and for the people, like I said, that, are looking to kind of gain some muscle, blah, blah, blah, eat a lot of food. We've always said that eating food, you wanna get big, get eat, get eat, and IGF-one
20:43Speaker 0would be something that you should definitely have in your arsenal if it's a peptide you're looking for. Yeah. The other thing I wanted to say was,
20:50Speaker 1I said, I am a proponent of eating at night, but eating protein like at night guys, that's when we have no stress. That's when our body does. It's growing really. Right? When we're asleep,
21:00Speaker 1it's not worried about other like worldly stresses. It can finally catch up. When our long short term memory turns to long term memory memory. That's this is when our body has a field day of just building muscle. So I do think like protein at night is huge and
21:15Speaker 1little bit of carbs because you actually need those carbs help, help get protein into your muscles. But yes, it's not a good idea to just hammer a bunch of carbs before bed. Which is when most people do it because they're munching eating TV. Which is true. Most people are not a good idea. Not a good idea.
21:33Speaker 1yeah, don't do that. But I do it. I do that sometimes. It's still good though. It is good.
21:41Speaker 0surprised we hadn't talked about IGF-1MQ, so I'm glad we were able to tap on this. So the next 1, which is very different, is going to be VIP. What is it? What does it do? Why should we take it?
21:54Speaker 1It is created in your gut. So here's the thing that people, I guess, get confused on or a misnomer.
22:17Speaker 1so basically makes your veins a bit bigger. Your blood can flow and travel better throughout your body. Blood heals, blood makes blood is, you know, more elixir of life. So that
23:11Speaker 1if you want to be able to eat healthy folks, you actually should be eating slow. Why does our mouth salivate? Right? We create saliva.
23:19Speaker 1So then when we eat, saliva goes down with the food and the saliva mixes with our stomach bile and helps that food digests a whole bunch better. Okay. So there's argument for eating slow because if you're just hammering the food in, you're not getting much saliva down in there, You should be watering
23:46Speaker 1So I guess it's not gonna increase. This isn't gonna just make you just like drooling everywhere. That's not the point of what I'm trying to say, but it will increase the fluids in your stomach to help you digest the food a bit better. Balances immunity. So it's good. Like if you run it with a Thymosin Alpha, I mean, VIP has a lot of different ones. I mean, blood flow is probably the best in my opinion, why I would run it for
24:19Speaker 1And it is like people buy beet supplements, right? Why do you buy beet supplements? Because it is just a general,
24:45Speaker 1The, yeah, the better your brain's gonna work, the better your body's gonna work. Right? That's why you, when you eat food, wanna you go to sleep and brain gets sluggish because all the blood leaves your brain and goes into your stomach to digest your food.
25:02Speaker 0types of issues. It's really good for that. So if you've been a smoker or you're still a smoker, this is definitely something you should be running without a doubt. Yeah. I need to give this to both my parents.
25:24Speaker 1her hand and other things too fast. And so she wanted to stop them because she wanted to see what the brain surgery actually did.
25:33Speaker 1So go figure. So she's taking a break on the peptides just because she doesn't want them to help her out. So
25:39Speaker 1I stopped. Yes, exactly. That's literally it. She wants to see what the, what her brain surgery actually does over like a 6 month period.
25:55Speaker 0So go figure. I know, but I will. I'll give it to my actually, need to send some stuff to my dad, so I will be sending this to him. He's still smokes and has forever. Yeah. So again, I mean, there's people that are looking for like the blood circulation and things like that, very different than the IGF-one. Like, again, we're trying to choose different ones that are going to show you kind of a different perspective of a wide range of what peptides are going to do. What about the dosages? Because I know that is a, it's a good 1 for this 1 because you're taking small amounts of VIP. Okay. Yes. And to be careful, like guys, this is going to make you flush. Like a lot of these peptides will make you flush PT-one hundred 41 Melanotan.
26:36Speaker 1Yeah. So it's going to increase your, it's going to increase your blood vessels. So it is, if you take too much,
26:46Speaker 1In a 3 mil and a 10 mg bottle, we're looking for about 100 micrograms to start off with
27:03Speaker 13 mils of water and do literally 3 units, which is basically fill that sucker up 3 mils, Fill that bottle up. Yep. And do the smallest tiny like 3 mills. You will still feel get some, get feel the flush. It'll go away,
27:22Speaker 1And you can slowly increase it as tolerance permits up to 6 units, which is 200 micrograms.
27:31Speaker 1AM and PM, I would absolutely suggest doing it twice a day, morning and night. Twice a day, morning and night.
27:37Speaker 0And so, you know, he's so when he says 3 units, so anybody that gets confused about that or is new to this show, so to speak or the lifestyle, 10 units is the 10 on
27:46Speaker 0that little insulin range. It's a 1st little notch. So 3 units is literally barely. You can see that little sucker. So don't think don't hit 30. No, definitely don't hit 30. No, no, 3 units was under the 10. You're barely see that little sucker. Yes. Very important. And the 10 mg. Okay. And I'm talking about 100 micro grams. K? Hundred grams. Yeah. So 10 mg is 10000 micrograms.
28:13Speaker 1A tiny little bit. If you do too much, you will get this big flushing and your blood vessels, you won't you'll like you'll probably get a headache because same thing if you take too much Viagra-1.4-1.1,
28:24Speaker 1you're like- In your brain and you don't feel very good. It can also have some negative like GI tract and digestion issues if you
28:39Speaker 1right? It is going to, it's going to help your brain. You're gonna, it's gonna help you think,
28:51Speaker 0In today's world with the crappy food we eat, it just clouds our brains with shit food.
29:01Speaker 1Yeah, dude. I think it's a great it's a great thing. Just the whole, I don't know. Blood heals everything. Blood makes you feel better. If we can get more blood circulation everywhere, I mean, bottom line, you're just try it. These things can do, can have some amazing effects on people. And you don't The same reason why people are like, you know, the guys that don't speak with people that lift weights. I take, I take a small amount of Cialis every day, not for any type of erectile dysfunction because blood flow.
29:25Speaker 0Blood flow, the same thing. So VIP would be in that category to take it. Yep. It'll give you great pumps, right? That's all that is.
29:56Speaker 0So if you use that, so the NAD, the Vermont C, so then you can also flip that around because it's good for immunity to the VIP. So if you wanted to, if you're sick, take the VIP with Thymosin Alpha-nine
30:13Speaker 0should not take it. How about anybody? Let's close on that. Anybody that you would recommend that probably wouldn't take it? You know, obviously, the standard like women, women,
30:31Speaker 0just properly dose. Yeah, yeah. This one's important on that. A lot of them aren't as important. This one's you will get flushed. I will tell you with experience, because we were looking at dosages when we 1st got it in and I did too much and I'm pretty seasoned and I was like, Woah, bro. Like, Woah.
31:03Speaker 1These are both, I mean, and it is being like, it's being studied, right, for Alzheimer's,
31:36Speaker 0Solid man. Yeah, that's good. Those are 2 good ones, very different in what they do, difference in the dosages. If again, the VIP, make sure you do that 1 properly in regards to that, but good stuff, man. And
31:48Speaker 0we will again be putting out some access to us to ask some questions on peptides, testosterone replacement, whatever you like. We've enjoyed that, so I'll be dropping that on my stories tomorrow.
32:14Speaker 1consuming any carbohydrates at all. If you saw my channel and follow my diet, don't do it daily. Don't do it daily. And if you do, you do take a little bit of carbs right after the injection.
32:23Speaker 0Yeah. And if you are just kind of sitting on this for a 2nd, if you are doing my type of diet, 6 weeks or so,
32:29Speaker 1I do a whole day of eating carbs, man. I blast myself with carbs. So this would be 1 that I would be taking. So do that too. For sure. You always want to kind of throw yourself out, throw it out of the door for like a day and just shock your body.
32:43Speaker 0So good to those days, man, by the end of the day, I'm like, Oh my God. I feel right now. I forgot why I stopped being corked. Yeah, no doubt.
32:55Speaker 0We will be recording next week. I don't know if you have some ideas. Also, when we post that, throw out some ones that you would like Will and I to discuss. There's
33:04Speaker 0if you have some ideas on some certain ones, throw them out there and we'll check you next week. Alright. I guess. Good night.
