Overview
Epitalon is a synthetic four-amino-acid peptide that emerged from Soviet and later Russian research on pineal gland extracts and ageing.
Almost all of the primary literature comes from a single research tradition, much of it published in Russian and not replicated by independent groups. Reported findings include effects on telomerase activity and on markers associated with ageing in animal models. The concentration of the evidence in one institutional source, without independent replication, is the central caveat and should be read as limiting every claim made for it.
What the research examines
Telomerase activity, circadian and pineal regulation, and longevity markers in animal models, from a literature that is largely un-replicated outside its originating group.
