You told us you've been doing this since you were 16. So, Peter, really quickly for the people that don't know who you are, in your own words, tell us who you are, what you do. 2:23 Speaker 4: Well, 2:24 Speaker 4: Bitmagic and 2:26 Speaker 4: own Nanosheat Limited, 2:28 Speaker 4: which is a company, 2:30 Speaker 4: that's doing analytical chemistry that's basically testing, 2:34 Speaker 4: mostly hormonal substances. 2:37 Speaker 4: We started out testing mostly performance enhancing drugs such as anabolic steroids. 2:42 Speaker 4: And 2:43 Speaker 4: along with that came the 1st peptides such as the human growth hormone 2:48 Speaker 0: Mhmm. 2:49 Speaker 4: Or 2:50 Speaker 4: related peptides, growth hormone releasing peptides, peptides, 2:53 Speaker 4: or 2:54 Speaker 4: Melanotan and similar ones. 2:56 Speaker 4: Mhmm. 2:57 Speaker 4: Nowadays nowadays, the peptides actually do make up a majority 3:01 Speaker 4: of the samples we test. 3:03 Speaker 4: Sure. Especially with the advent of GLP ones. 3:06 Speaker 4: So I believe, at the moment, we're by far the biggest laboratory that does this in the world. We have 3:14 Speaker 4: over 20,000 square feet of space 3:17 Speaker 4: and over 40 employees 3:19 Speaker 4: right now. 3:20 Speaker 3: That's awesome. That's impressive. I have known you guys. I've been doing ever since I've been in this business, and I feel like maybe 12, 15 years or something like that, I've been sending tests into you, 3:31 Speaker 3: starting with anabolic steroids. 3:34 Speaker 3: Hey. So you were young, obviously. Look at you. 3:39 Speaker 3: Tell us how you how you ended up starting this company because you had to have been a young young man. And and what kind of background did you have? And why? And why did you start it? 3:49 Speaker 4: Well, I had no background in this at all. I was just your regular scrawny kid. 3:55 Speaker 4: And I figured 3:58 Speaker 4: if I want to get popular with the ladies, I ought to take a weightlifting or something. 4:03 Speaker 4: So 4:05 Speaker 4: given my education, 4:06 Speaker 4: I had an education at Bilingual English School, like a British school in Slovakia. 4:13 Speaker 4: I go I was really fluent in English, so I started looking up my information on English message boards. 4:19 Speaker 4: And, obviously, when you start looking at the Internet forums, 4:23 Speaker 4: even 15 years ago or long or more, 4:28 Speaker 4: you get around with people who that the performance 4:31 Speaker 4: enhancing drug use so pervasive. You will just come around that, and I befriended many people. I'm actually still in contact with many of the people I met more than 15 years ago online Sounds good. When I was just starting out lifting. 4:44 Speaker 4: And 4:46 Speaker 4: they all had this issue. Like, they 4:49 Speaker 4: a lot of them were using this performance enhancing drugs. 4:54 Speaker 4: Nobody had any idea what sort of stuff is actually 4:59 Speaker 4: in 5:00 Speaker 4: the products they're using. They bought something, but they had no guarantees gray or black market even if you're in The UK or Slovakia. Back then, the personal use wasn't criminalized. 5:10 Speaker 4: Mhmm. It was not a crime to use them. 5:13 Speaker 4: But 5:14 Speaker 4: even so, there was no regulation. 5:16 Speaker 4: There were no testing labs that accepted private customers, 5:20 Speaker 4: private. Mhmm. They they were difficult to deal with. Like, they only did b to b. 5:26 Speaker 4: It they took months to deliver results. They were exceedingly expensive. 5:31 Speaker 4: Mhmm. And 5:32 Speaker 4: I was talking with my friends, and I had a friend at the university, an incredibly bright young guy. 5:38 Speaker 4: And I figured, like, man, the 5:41 Speaker 4: concept of chemical analysis, like, it's not a diff you you see it, you know, you buy a mineral water, 5:47 Speaker 4: and you see the label that the results of the chemical analysis. 5:51 Speaker 4: So even at a high school, as dumb as I was, I could figure out that it's something that is actually doable. So I 5:57 Speaker 4: I I investigated this possibility 5:59 Speaker 4: for my friends 6:01 Speaker 4: and then for a couple bucks for to cover the costs and a couple of beers on top of that. We tried that and it worked. So 6:11 Speaker 4: then another friend hit me up of like, hey. Could you do this for me as well? Like, the 1 friend was Serb from Serbia. 6:19 Speaker 4: Another friend was from The US. 1 was from UK. 6:23 Speaker 4: So and they started hitting me. Could you do this for me? That's yielded quite a lot of beers. 6:29 Speaker 0: And 6:30 Speaker 4: then that 6:32 Speaker 4: then the friends of them started asking me to do that. And then in a little while, 6:37 Speaker 4: people I've never heard of started asking me to do stuff for them. And I were like, hey. Hey, guys. Stop. Okay. 6:43 Speaker 4: I like this is fun, but I had no charity. This is taking out so much of my time. The logistics of international 6:51 Speaker 4: mail and everything, they're they're rather difficult, so I'm not doing it for b money anymore. So 6:57 Speaker 4: I took it commercial within a span of roughly a year or so. And 7:05 Speaker 4: at the start, at the beginning, we were still doing it with with 7:09 Speaker 4: my friend at the university lab. 7:12 Speaker 4: But 7:13 Speaker 4: later on, I saved up the money 7:16 Speaker 4: and bought my own 1st HPLC, 7:19 Speaker 4: the machine used to analyze this. Yeah. 7:22 Speaker 4: This compounds, the basic 1. 7:25 Speaker 4: So for a while, I was living in a dorm room, 7:28 Speaker 4: and next to my head, you had this HPLC, 7:32 Speaker 4: and it was an ancient old 1 because it had to be cheap. I was poor. I was poor. Right. Right. Didn't have enough money for food and 7:39 Speaker 4: because I was spending it to get high purity chemicals to run the the analysis. 7:43 Speaker 4: And 7:45 Speaker 4: right now, when you have the HPLC, 7:47 Speaker 4: it's basically it has a pump that's pumping liquid through stuff. 7:51 Speaker 4: And right now, you have these pumps that are doing like, but 7:56 Speaker 4: no. The ancient 1 was already 20 years old 7:59 Speaker 4: when I had it, and it just went like it had these pumping hats, 8:04 Speaker 4: huge ones like my face, and it just went 8:09 Speaker 0: Yeah. 8:10 Speaker 4: And it was it it took a long time. Like, the older the HPLC, the lower the the worse it is, the longer it takes to analyze stuff. Sure. Yeah. Right. So I had so I so I had this stuff running for 40 hours straight 8:24 Speaker 4: next to my head at the dorm. 8:27 Speaker 4: I still remember to this day when my 8:30 Speaker 4: not from my room, but the next room, the next door, the guy, a lawyer, 8:35 Speaker 4: he he he just asked me if I'm ever gonna turn it off. 8:39 Speaker 4: And I 8:40 Speaker 4: looked at him with this huge circus the dark circus under my eyes, and I told him I cannot for the next 42 hours because 8:48 Speaker 4: there's a huge backlog of analysis. 8:51 Speaker 0: Oh, you have sleep. Yeah. 8:53 Speaker 4: Yeah. 8:54 Speaker 4: So so so the guy, he just let out this tear of sadness 8:58 Speaker 4: and went to try went went back to his bed to try to sleep, but 9:03 Speaker 4: it didn't really work. We're we're still friends to this day, but he really he really regretted living next next door Oh my god. Back then. 9:12 Speaker 0: That was a good That's amazing. Story. That's a rad story. That that is a rad story. Good for you, man. So it basically was completely organic, 9:20 Speaker 0: and that's how you started. How rad is that? That is amazing. We never did any marketing. We always I just 9:26 Speaker 4: I had my had my report with my contact contact information, 9:30 Speaker 4: and I never did any sort of marketing or paid, 9:34 Speaker 4: you know, like, 9:35 Speaker 4: on anabolic steroid forms. It was rather common to pay 9:39 Speaker 4: to just be able to be there, but I never did that. It sort of went against my 9:45 Speaker 4: philosophy 9:46 Speaker 4: of doing stuff. Yeah. So it just grew organically over the years. Right. Eventually, I could move out the lab, out of the dorm. That's when I moved that's 9:56 Speaker 4: when I moved it out of the dorm 9:58 Speaker 0: in Prague. 10:00 Speaker 4: I moved it to Slovakia, 10:02 Speaker 4: my parents' house. They there was a working space in there. 10:07 Speaker 4: I'm going to pretend it wasn't a kitchen. 10:12 Speaker 4: I had a lab there for a while until I found suitable 10:16 Speaker 4: space back in Czech Republic. 10:18 Speaker 4: But I really did want to move the lab out of the dorm 10:22 Speaker 4: Mhmm. Because we had this incident. 10:24 Speaker 4: Like, you know, when you were getting delivered 10:26 Speaker 4: chemicals, 10:27 Speaker 4: high purity chemicals to your dorm room, like you have industrial trucks delivering you chemicals to a dorm room. 10:36 Speaker 0: Looks a little suspicious. Yeah. 10:38 Speaker 4: It did raise some suspicions. 10:41 Speaker 4: Sure. And at some point, I had a local equivalent of DEA task force 10:46 Speaker 4: Oh. Knock on my door at 4AM. 10:50 Speaker 0: And 10:52 Speaker 4: given I was given given I was living alone, I slept like God made me. I just opened the door. Like, what the hell? Who is what was what's the doing this at 4AM? 11:02 Speaker 4: Yeah. And then I had, you know, these guys in and 11:05 Speaker 4: everything. 11:06 Speaker 4: Woah. 11:24 Speaker 4: Greatest 11:24 Speaker 4: hub for homemade methamphetamine. 11:27 Speaker 4: It's like the national spot over here. So they sort of assumed it's that. Right. But, you know, they entered. The chemist, they took a look, and 11:35 Speaker 4: it's pretty it's pretty easy to tell an analytical chemical lab for manufacturing 11:41 Speaker 4: some Sure. Anything. 11:42 Speaker 4: Right. So so that so they just turned around. They were like, oh, so we're we're sorry, man. No problem. 11:50 Speaker 4: Yeah. We don't want you. But the dorm yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But the dorm administration 11:54 Speaker 4: was pretty upset about the whole situation. Yeah. Right. 11:58 Speaker 4: Like, they woke up the dorm administrator, and she had to be with them there at 4AM. 12:04 Speaker 0: Hey. 12:06 Speaker 0: Looking at that. Peter, do you mind moving out of the door, please? Yeah. 12:10 Speaker 3: Did they let you stay in the door? 12:13 Speaker 4: Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. They had the the the they just made a it it sort of became a running joke over there. But That's awesome. They let me stay over there. I stayed there for a couple more years. I actually met my wife later on in the dorm. 12:26 Speaker 0: Cool. 12:27 Speaker 0: Yeah. That's awesome. Yeah. 12:29 Speaker 3: But I figured that might be just the right time to move the live out of the room I'm living in over there. Yeah. No doubt. Hey, so that's that's awesome. So and the, basically, the genesis of this whole thing, again, goes back to women and trying to men trying to please women. Right? The whole point of you trying to do start anything was because you wanted to get girls. 12:50 Speaker 4: Wow. So I was I was like when I when I joined the message boards, I was like 14 or 15. So 12:57 Speaker 4: that's pretty that's that's pretty much nothing that was on mind of. Right. Right. A teenage boy like that. Right? Yeah. Right. Yeah. 13:05 Speaker 0: So that's cool, man. Thank you. So back then, when you were doing all this and you're you're testing this this these compounds, 13:13 Speaker 0: were you finding a lot of the compounds 13:16 Speaker 0: either underdosed 13:18 Speaker 0: or like a testosterone or like, let's say a trend, ACE coming back as testosterone? 13:23 Speaker 0: Were you finding a lot of compounds not 13:26 Speaker 0: being the compounds they were supposed to or at least being greatly underdosed 13:30 Speaker 0: back then? 13:32 Speaker 4: It has to that, 13:35 Speaker 4: it's quite a challenge for my memory at this point. Yep. But I do I of course of course, the market was 13:42 Speaker 4: well, I don't know how to put in my lid. The market was pretty shit given there was no option for people to test stuff. Right. 13:49 Speaker 4: Basically basically, the cheap compounds like testosterone, 13:53 Speaker 4: you had testosterone 13:54 Speaker 4: 250 13:55 Speaker 4: mg, and it turned out to be 300 and 80. 13:59 Speaker 4: Because the more kick it has, the better it has to be. Right? Yeah. Right. 14:03 Speaker 4: That was that was pretty much the best or the higher down bow on the blood on the blood test results. So 14:10 Speaker 4: that's what people went by. And 14:13 Speaker 4: oftentimes, the compounds in the oil were just random mixtures of stuff like it it looked like someone just found random bags of stuff Jeez. And put it into the oil to make rough concentrations similar to that. 14:26 Speaker 4: We've even seen, 14:28 Speaker 4: you know, the trampoline. It's known for being orange, which is actually not good because the tramp orange means it's degraded already. Mhmm. Regular trombone all ought to look the same as just any other oil. Really? But 14:42 Speaker 4: we've seen we've seen 14:44 Speaker 4: a lot of oils that were orange as Tremblon 14:48 Speaker 4: people thought ought to look. But that was just because someone baked the oil and then dissolved testosterone in it, but they baked it to be orange. You know, there there's a particle kinds of oils that turn orange if you bake them long enough. Oh, wow. So That's interesting. We've seen that. That that was that was that was pretty fun to see. 15:05 Speaker 4: But, basically, basically, it was Wild West. 15 years ago, the bucket was in a terrible shape. Mhmm. But then then as the as the testing as the testing became widely available, 15:17 Speaker 4: I would say that within 5 years, the entire market changed. Like, 15:24 Speaker 4: It was a lot more difficult for people who were just making pills 15:27 Speaker 4: that 15:28 Speaker 4: had random stuff in them. It became 15:31 Speaker 4: very difficult to justify that after people could test the stuff themselves. 15:36 Speaker 0: Well, that's awesome because now it's kind of like deja vu. So now the peptides come into the case and you're kind of at that area now, I would imagine, where it's kind of been the wild wild west, but now with the testing, 15:51 Speaker 0: you're kind of like back to square 1 to a degree, I would imagine, where you're seeing some of the same type of stuff going on. I mean, are you seeing a lot of stuff come through that's greatly underdosed? 16:04 Speaker 4: Well, 16:05 Speaker 4: right now, the last couple of weeks, we're seeing this interesting phenomenon 16:09 Speaker 4: that we receive in a lot of vials 16:12 Speaker 4: that contain no active compound at all. Oh, wow. 16:16 Speaker 4: All all different peptides, whether it's GHK, 16:20 Speaker 4: BPC, 16:21 Speaker 4: Sema, Retrata, 16:22 Speaker 4: whatever it is, it's just empty vial. Of course, there's the filler, there's the excipient, 16:28 Speaker 4: but there's no actual peptide in it. And 16:31 Speaker 4: there's a whole lot the whole 16:33 Speaker 4: lot of those 16:35 Speaker 4: coming in in the last couple of weeks. That's 16:38 Speaker 4: that's that's the interesting 16:40 Speaker 4: news from the field. But, 16:43 Speaker 4: of course, we're regularly seeing wrong dose, wrong peptide peptide in the vial, 16:49 Speaker 4: roughly 1 in 20 or 25 samples. Okay. Turned out to be just completely something different than it ought to be. Okay. 16:57 Speaker 0: Is there a particular compound 16:59 Speaker 0: that you would say is 17:02 Speaker 0: that's happening the most at, or is it just kinda sporadically 17:05 Speaker 0: all of them to a degree? 17:09 Speaker 4: Oh, wow. Well, I have to give a honorable mention to bioglutide, 17:13 Speaker 4: which if you've heard of it, it's completely made up molecule. 17:17 Speaker 4: We we 17:18 Speaker 4: still get an inquiry here and there to test it because someone sold it to someone. 17:24 Speaker 4: It it always just tests some other GLP 1 or a mixture of them. Right. So that's an honorable mention because I I I 17:32 Speaker 4: thought that hilarious from the start. 17:36 Speaker 4: But other than that, it's just 17:39 Speaker 4: it's just sporadically 17:41 Speaker 4: this and that. It's it's it's pretty random. 17:44 Speaker 4: The newer and more the the more rare stuff is, the more it happens, of course. Yep. But 17:52 Speaker 4: there's no no rule of thumb that 1 could apply as far as I can tell. Because there is probably a rule of thumb if we're talking about hormones like primabolin 18:01 Speaker 3: and Anovar. 18:02 Speaker 3: Right? And my guess is those 2, you see 18:07 Speaker 3: the most coming in as not them when people think it is. 18:10 Speaker 3: How about on the hormone side? Not really. No? What do you what do you see there? Not really. 18:16 Speaker 4: While a lot of methanalone 18:18 Speaker 4: and oxandrolone. 18:19 Speaker 4: Yeah. Primoble and Anavar, they come in 18:23 Speaker 4: as claimed. 18:25 Speaker 4: We're not seeing That's good. We're not seeing much different stuff than we're not seeing 18:31 Speaker 4: a significantly 18:32 Speaker 4: higher percent of replacements with those, which is quite surprising, to be honest. 18:37 Speaker 4: There are there are particularities like when there was there was a drop 18:43 Speaker 4: with 18:44 Speaker 4: raw powders coming from China when there was no Drosstanolone, 18:48 Speaker 4: no Yeah. Yeah. Mastron Mastron. Being made. Yeah. So we've seen that replaced with something else a lot. And oftentimes, it was something that was even more expensive than the Drosstanolone itself. 18:59 Speaker 4: So I assume it was just people desperate to feel orders. Yeah. Not not 19:05 Speaker 4: Not fancy. So Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But the funny thing with methanol on the primobulin is, you know, those famous 19:12 Speaker 4: Bayer, primobolins, these amps, 19:15 Speaker 4: They're probably the most faked anabolic steroid in the world. Yeah. Like, if we receive if we receive the Remobolans vial or Remobolans ampule Yeah. 19:25 Speaker 4: The the it's, like, over 90% chance that it's contained in nothing but beer oil. Oh, wow. Like, 90%. 19:32 Speaker 4: Wow. Not even BA or BC. Yeah. 19:34 Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So 19:36 Speaker 4: and and they're made perfectly. Like, it's it's it's it's knee impossible to tell them from originals. Sure. Oftentimes, they're really perfectly made. They they just contain nothing whatsoever. 19:47 Speaker 3: China's got good at making Yeah. 19:49 Speaker 4: What's the theory? Yeah. Yeah. I I have the theory that if someone managed to get as good at faking the labels, the ampoules, 19:57 Speaker 4: and 19:58 Speaker 4: the boxes, 20:00 Speaker 4: they figure if they get caught, the the worst case, they got 20:05 Speaker 4: got sued for trademark infringement or something like that, and they don't get sued for 20:10 Speaker 4: unlawful possession and manufacture of anabolics. 20:14 Speaker 3: So they figure it's just risk management for them or something. But that's just my theory this is 1 theory of mine. Right. Why invest all of your money into making the fake packaging when you could invest all your money into making remaking the actual substance, but the actual substance is more risky. 20:30 Speaker 4: Yeah. Exactly. Exactly. Hardly. Yeah. So 20:34 Speaker 4: you'll you'll have a much better chance of running into a real methanol on 20:38 Speaker 4: in a dirty in a dirty, oily 10 milliliter vial 20:43 Speaker 4: than 20:44 Speaker 4: in the fancy ampoules. Oh, wow. In a in a in a very real looking boxes. Of course. That's been our experience 20:52 Speaker 0: regarding that. Because I know that you do test probably everywhere, so is it America that takes the lead? I do know exactly. Right. 22:13 Speaker 4: We do have a we do have actually a 22:17 Speaker 4: presentation online for media because 22:20 Speaker 4: at some point, we started getting so many media inquiries that I made a presentation for them, 22:26 Speaker 4: and I made a I made a list by revenue. And more roughly 0.667 of my business is coming from US. Yeah. Okay. Very good. And roughly 20% 22:37 Speaker 4: is coming from China. 22:39 Speaker 4: So these 2 are obvious because The US, they are the biggest consumer market 22:44 Speaker 4: economy. They they have the 22:46 Speaker 4: the economical power of The United States is incomparable with anything else in the world. Yeah. So if you get arbitrary signal of 100 and your peptide has 28:46 Speaker 4: signal of 993, 28:49 Speaker 4: that's basically the peptide purity that's defined. And then you have 7 thousands of signal that is not attributed 28:55 Speaker 4: to your target peptide. So that's what the purity means. So basically, 32:28 Speaker 0: another way to put it is people should be worried about things like seed oils and Doritos and sugars a lot more than 32:35 Speaker 0: what they're worried about coming through in peptides. Maybe the only fear you should have is, are you getting it dosed? 32:41 Speaker 0: Is it the peptide that you ordered? And 2, are you is it dosed to a degree where you're it's gonna work for you? Other than that, don't don't worry about it. 32:49 Speaker 0: Right? Yeah, that's exactly like the best value test by far is the identity and the dose. Mhmm. Which is what I always tell the people. This is the best value that you could get. So if you don't purify your human growth hormone or anything else you make in this bacteria, 33:56 Speaker 4: you're gonna end up with a bunch of it in in in your in your product. 34:02 Speaker 4: So 34:05 Speaker 4: this is why endotoxin in peptides 34:07 Speaker 4: was a real worry for a while. But nowadays, all these peptides are made with solid phase synthesis, 34:14 Speaker 4: which is has absolutely nothing to do with bacteria. 34:19 Speaker 4: Well, that's So I always thought that testing for endotoxin is pretty moot, 34:24 Speaker 4: like, not really necessary. But then 34:27 Speaker 4: a couple weeks or months ago, I don't know, that they just flew flew it fly by. Pretty much. I know what We started, yeah, we started getting very 34:35 Speaker 0: high 34:36 Speaker 4: results for some of the samples tested. Like, they were severely contaminated 34:40 Speaker 4: with MHC. Like, not severely enough 34:42 Speaker 4: because issues to another human. 34:45 Speaker 4: Mhmm. They started using using creating these peptides using some other method besides 35:40 Speaker 3: solid phase synthesis? 35:42 Speaker 0: Yeah. Was there something that showed that Definitely, 35:45 Speaker 4: there's nothing more economical than solid phase synthesis. So 35:48 Speaker 4: when you're looking at stuff like this, you always go by the economics. 35:52 Speaker 4: And 35:53 Speaker 4: they're doing solid phase synthesis. I have no doubt about that because of the cheapest and most economical way to do that. 35:59 Speaker 4: So 36:01 Speaker 4: I think with with the peptides, NAD plus is a different story that I think is the cheapest to make biosynthetically. 36:09 Speaker 4: So the endotoxin 36:11 Speaker 4: contamination 36:11 Speaker 4: might be expected there. But with the GLP-1s, 36:15 Speaker 4: for example, I think it is just contamination of the manufacturing process. For example, they're using contaminated water or something like that. Oh, right. Makes sense. 36:26 Speaker 4: We've seen we've seen stuff like 36:29 Speaker 4: in a Chinese factory that used that paid us to find the trouble. 36:33 Speaker 4: The Chinese factory had issues with 36:36 Speaker 4: unknown contaminant showing up in all the samples. 36:39 Speaker 4: Oh, wow. And it took us a month of investigation 36:44 Speaker 4: and a lot of money being spent to figure out that 36:48 Speaker 4: someone was using the wrong detergent to clean the machines. Yeah. Right. The sheer amount of samples, I think it was over 100 samples just tested by us to figure out where it is exactly getting introduced and what it might be. Wow. That's awesome. And all this could be prevented easily just by, you know, the testing like this being available. Yeah.
